Franklin came highly recommended from a friend of my in-laws. He had shot her daughter's wedding, and was very satisfied with him. We decided to book Franklin because he was very easy to communicate with via e-mail (we planned our wedding from 350 miles away!). This was most important to us. Another *selling* point for us was that he only does approximately 10 weddings a year (which is significantly less than other *serial* wedding photographers that might do 3 weddings in one weekend). Because of this, we knew that he would have the time and energy to put into our wedding on the day of and in the months after, as he prepared, edited, and touched up our prints. We received our preview album within one month of the wedding, and an online gallery to share with family and friends was also provided at the same time. We look forward to recieving our finished wedding album (a Zook Book!) within the next couple of months.
On our wedding day, Franklin and his lovely wife arrived earlier than scheduled, and helped everyone stay on schedule by politely reminding us of what time it was. They stayed for 8 1/2 hours, were appropriately dressed, polite to our quests, and stayed inconspicous and did their best to not interfere (but still getting great candids!)
We highly recommend Franklin Tunis as a wedding photographer, you will not regret it!
I highly recommend Madeleine's Daughter for your wedding attire. My bridal gown, my mom's gown, and all four of my bridesmaids' dresses were purchased from here. The service we received was impeccable, and since my gown had to travel 350 miles for our big day, I had to make sure that it was packaged appropriately. They did all of this for me, and it arrived in perfect shape, no need to take it to the dry cleaners! I also had my dress (as well as mom mom's) altered here and our seamstress was amazing. She did a great job planning my bustle (it did not fall down all night!) and made my dress fit me like a glove. They could also accomodate the fact that all of my girls and my mom would come from out of state to try on dresses and have them altered later on.
The staff was friendly, and ever so helpful, and I recommend them! You can't go wrong!! The attention to detail and the individualized service was the reason I chose to go to a smaller bridal shop as opposed to a national chain!
Steve was our DJ at our wedding reception, and he was great!!! We were in touch with Matt, for most of the pre-wedding planning. This communication was all e-mail based, since we planned our wedding from 350 miles away! We decided to go with Occasions *because* they were easy to communicate with via e-mail. Their website provides a *very* easy and effective planning tool, where we could identify songs we definitely did not want to hear at our reception. And, we could make it clear that we did not want a DJ who would be talking all night and not adhering to our requests and instructions. A few weeked before our wedding, Steve, who was matched up to us based on his personality and what we wanted, called me and we talked about our final details. He was courteous, and easy to talk to.
On the day of, he showed up in a tuxedo!!! We were not expecting this, and it was just awesome! He looked great, and he listened to us about not being cheesy or too talkative, and he kept the music playing all night. He also helped the nights events run smoothly by being the MC. He was wonderful!
We highly recommend Occasions DJs for wedding receptions, and if you can get Steve, you will be all set :)
