The Vandiver Inn is simply amazing! It's a quaint little Inn in historic Havre de Grace, Maryland. They are a one-stop shop and they are experts at what they do. Because they manage so many aspects of the wedding day (venue, rentals, set-up, food, bar), everything runs very smoothly.
The place is run by husband and wife team John and Susan. They really make you feel like family. Their event coordinator, Chasi, was absolutely amazing and did not miss one detail. She guided us through the entire wedding day and made sure everything went smoothly. She would magically appear and tell us it was time to do the cake cutting or she would show up with a glass of champagne just as ours was running out. And she made sure we took 5 minutes to ourselves to breathe and be alone together before walking into the reception. She truly cared about us, our wedding party and all of our guests.
Their entire crew was very courteous and professional. They really went out of their way to serve us and make sure we were happy.
And the food at the Vandiver is absolutely amazing! Susan prepares all of the food herself and they have a large menu to choose from. We chose a combo plate with gouda-stuffed chicken (amazing!!) and the crab cake with mango-salsa. And we actually were given time to eat it!
We spent the night in one of their guest rooms, which was so quaint and relaxing! When we arrived that night, our marriage certificate was propped up on the bed, along with a plate of leftovers and two slices of cake. The next morning, we had breakfast at the main house before leaving.
The Vandiver gave us the wedding of our dreams and I just can't say enough good things about them!
Jonathan's Weddings and Flowers Fallston, Maryland 21047
I was extremely pleased with Jonathan's Florist (he's now located at 14 E. Jarrettsville Road in Forest Hill, MD). He really grasped what I was looking for and even exceeded my expectations. You can tell he truly cares and takes pride in his work. He helped to give me ideas, but was not pushy at all. I was so excited for how everything turned out on the wedding day. I would definitely recommend him!
Our wedding cake not only looked amazing, but it tasted amazing!! Cindy at Desserts by Rita really captured what we were looking for in a wedding cake. It was calla lilly-themed, with maroon ribbons interspersed throughout the adornments. Our cake was placed on a victorian stand, so each of the three levels were separated. This made the cake prettier when cut and served to our guests. While Cindy had many flavors of cake and icings to try, we went with the party-pleasers of chocolate and yellow cake with buttercream frosting. Yum! I think I had 3 slices that night! I can't wait to enjoy the topper in a year! And we'll definitely be going back to Desserts by Rita for other cakes in the future!
Frank was amazing! He was extremely professional and really played to the crowd. We did not give him a playlist (except for the honors dances), and he really captured the various types of music our guests liked. He was not overbearing with the mic at all and he made all announcements accurately and professionally.
Frank also did the music for our wedding ceremony and it turned out great! He has a great sound system and really knows what he's doing. We would definitely recommend him to others!
Fr. Flaherty led us in a wonderful ceremony that really incorporated the themes and elements that were important to us. He listened to us and then prepared a beautiful ceremony that we'll remember forever. He even accommodated us on a Sunday between his two normal services, which we are especially grateful for. He was recommended to us by two different people and we would definitely recommend him to others.
