Our Story

 
               I was out with a roomate shooting pool. He stopped on his way home for 1 more beer. I kept walking past him to get to the bar for a refill, we kept staring at each other as I passed. (neither of us is big on subtley) I finally stopped halfway thru passing him again to tell him he was pissing me off sitting there, alone, doing nothing,  & asked if he played pool. When he said yes,  I told him him to grab his beer and bring his ass, which he obliged with a Yes, Ma'm. Go figure.....a military man.... bit of a weakness of mine. I never stood a chance.. Lol
     End of the night comes...leaving the bar...the cocky little *bleep* turns to me and says So....Am I following you home?
 We have been together ever since, spent a grand total of 5 nites apart. Got engaged Aug. 20th. '09
      Disgusting right?  I know. Can't help it...when ya know...ya know...right?

The Ring


  As we are both a bit controlling/OCD, a surprise proposal would never have worked. I analyze everything from  every conceivable angle. So this was more of a discussion about our future that turned in to a question....I know ...not very romantic but so very us.  :)  We decided to get married and went and picked out rings the next day. He is everything I never thought I'd find. Oddly enough he feels the same way about me ! Go Figure!  I LOVE my ring, it's pefect for a tomboy like me. :)

Our Wedding Plans


    
    Outdoor ceremony~actually a modified handfasting, Black & White scheme w/Deep purple/blue accent color, 
    2 attendants each~~We're both having one sibling and one friend stand up with us.
    Decided to just have my two youngest sisters in wedding so......10yr as Jr.Bridesmaid & 6yr as flower girl. 
    Best man  will hold rings instead of having ringbearers. A buddy of mine is gonna "officiate" since  we're already legal
    (he's ordained as well so either way it works)  We already have our house and all the stuff to fill it so we're thinking
    about registering for help with a Honeymoon instead, so far feedback from family as been positive on that concept.

Our Planning Experience


      This is a whole new concept for me as I am very much a tomboy, harley boots and a wifebeater are my usual M.O. I am having the hardest time trying to decide what I want as I wasn't one of those girls that thought about this day as a child. I think that is my biggest obstacle at this point is picking an idea and running with it. I keep second guessing myself. Also don't really have any female friends so no sounding board to get feedback.  WW is a GODSEND...you ladies have been awesome for me, just to be able to browse ideas and bounce concepts off ppl in the forums is helping me ALOT.
