The arboretum was a great venue - we had our ceremony in the smallest garden available, Nancy's Garden. The dealing with the sales/services staff was generally OK, but there were times when they were fairly non-responsive. On several different occasions, I would send emails or leave phone messages and never get a reply, which was very frustrating.
Our wedding was very small (approx. 60 guests) and casual (think Watters & Watters gown with rhinestone flip flops), so Matt's (one of our favorite dinner spots) was the perfect place for our reception. The ceremony was at the arboretum, so it was a short drive over to Matt's, and we hosted the reception dinner on the patio. The only major concern was parking for everyone since Matt's is such a popular place. The food was great, and our party was attended to by an ample number of waitstaff. I met with Brian Armstrong a couple of times prior to the event to go over the menu, the table lay-out, cake setup, etc., and it all came together very well. Even now (3 months later) friends and family comment on how much fun our wedding was and how they wish they'd done something similar instead of going with the huge formal to-do.
Amber was absolutely WONDERFUL - I simply can not say enough good things about her. She was extremely professional and responsive to all of my special requests. At the wedding, she was very good at dealing with some of the more difficult personalities in my family, and she just generally put everyone at ease. Everyone commented to me about how wonderful she was, and once the photos were posted online I recieved TONS of compliments about her work. The most common things I heard were, "Your pictures are just beautiful. Your photographer did an amazing job. The colors are gorgeous. I can't believe how many pictures she took!" Amber even helped me out the after the wedding when the jeweler lost my husband's custom ring while it was being resized. She quickly emailed me a high-resolution close-up picture that she'd taken of our hands with our wedding bands on and saved the day! From that photo, the jeweler was able to zoom in on the detailing of the ring and was able to replace it.
I've purchased birthday cakes and various other baked goodies from Sophi at Panini for about 7 years, so there was no doubt (once we decided to actually have a wedding cake) that I'd purchase my wedding cakes from her. Panini also did my sister's wedding cake two years ago, and people still comment to her about how wonderful her cake was.
My bride and groom cakes were just exactly what I'd envisioned - who knew that you could actually make a cake in the shape of a huge Texas Longhorn head (my husband is a UT alum)? My cake was hardly traditional, but it fit the theme of my wedding perfectly. My guests were all very complimentary of how beautiful and festive it was, and then they tasted it. Folks were begging to take cake home with them!

This group was great! They helped advise me on what instruments I would need in order to achieve the type of sound that I wanted for the music at my ceremony while also having enough volume for the guests to be able to hear well enough at an outdoor venue with no speakers. They started on time, and the music was lovely - perfect for a garden wedding in spring.
