All I can say is that Heinz Field is amazing. I previously worked in the wedding industry, so I have been to many venues in town over the years. When it came time for my own wedding, I knew Heinz Field would be perfect. The prices were reasonable. It was actually less expensive than most hotels in town! Their attention to detail is wonderful. Not one single thing went wrong at my reception and they do everything for you. My husband and I were treated so wonderfully by everyone! Not to mention that going inside the Steelers' locker room and on the field for photos is very exciting to the Steeler-lovers in the wedding party. My own brother (who hates weddings) said "If I ever get married, it has to be here. That was so nice." We even had the snack bar open during the cocktail hour, serving little stadium-style appetizers. We actually spent less than planned on our bar and Heinz Field issued us a refund. Talk about an honest vendor who really has their act together! :) I wish I could get married again and do it all over at Heinz Field. The staff is just wonderful; they can make your dreams come true! :)
Mark is awesome at what he does and has been doing weddings for years now. There are a lot of cheaper photographers out there just getting started, but they don't have the experience or equipment that Mark does. He has been to practically every venue around and gets amazing shots regardless of lighting and venue restrictions.
Check out his stuff at the above link. Mark was voted The Best of Weddings by the Knot for 2008. He shot my wedding in February 2009, and I have hundreds of photos to choose from. Some photographers, you feel like you have to make a shot list and a must-take list for them to make sure they get all the family combinations and details. Not with Mark...I never gave him a list of shots at all and yet he got every single shot we were looking for and then some! I made almost everything for my wedding; Mark really memorialized all my hard work in photos. He works really quickly so your bridal party doesn't get bored or tired of endless photos. He gets the job done and produces some really unique work, especially with the details and portraiture of the bride and groom. My favorite part of Mark's work is his "getting ready" photos because they really capture the emotion of the day. Mark's photography is a natural, photojournalistic style with some portraits, because you do need some formal photos of the family. Mark shoots some edgy work, but not so much that your mom or grandma won't like the shots. The work is truly timeless.
The best part is that you spend so much time with your photographer on your wedding day and Mark is totally laid back, professional, and can work in all kinds of lighting situations. He will give you comprehensive coverage of the day as it happens and his albums are beautiful. I didn't consider anyone other photographer because I trusted Mark with my wedding day entirely.
Tammy met my family for a tasting and a consultation. Before we even booked her, she had made two fresh cakes so we could try her fillings. Her photos were gorgeous and so I booked her right away. Her prices are the lowest around, but yet her cakes are so nice.
She then drew up a cake design for me featuring the city skyline, a bridge, and our monogram. It went with our theme perfectly. I have never heard more compliments on a cake than I did that night! It was PERFECT. Tammy knows what she is doing.
She even has new flavors...ours were chocolate cake with mint chocolate filling, French vanilla cake with peanut butter filling, and red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. We even had extra cake leftover because Tammy's servings are so generous. She also is making us an anniversary cake for the first year, as we could not freeze our cake top due to a cross country move. I would never book anyone besides Cakes by Tammy. Perfection.
Jodi really was able to help me out in the middle of a busy school semester in getting my invitations done and ready and she also saved me tons of money on the printer and by assembling my invitations. I don’t think I ever would have had my invites out on time if Jodi didn’t help. She also ran my rehearsal and everything went really smoothly.
Jodi is much more responsive than I am. I was so busy during my last semester of grad school that Jodi would email me and call me before I even thought of something. As someone who was formerly in the wedding industry, Jodi was really prompt and the most likely of any of my vendors to get right back to me, always within 24 hours and even less sometimes as she is available from her Blackberry.
Jodi always seemed very professional and so did her assistant Ellen. Jodi was back to work about a week after having her baby, so I consider that very professional!
When I booked Jodi, she was the lowest cost DOC out there and still is very competitively priced. You would be hard pressed to find a cheaper DOC that also runs the rehearsal. I also am so glad that Jodi did my invite creation for a very low price. It was totally worth it to get a custom product for so low of a price.
Jodi is very flexible and keeps up on the latest ideas. She is not the type of lady who got married years ago and wants to cover everything with tulle…unless of course you are the kind of bride that wants that. Jodi didn’t get married very long ago at all and really keeps up on the latest trends so the wedding looks modern and fresh, not dated. It is much better to have Jodi set up the reception site you’re your mom or mother-in-law, since they probably are unaware of half the things that go into a wedding nowadays.
The day of my rehearsal, Jodi already had many things set up for the following day. She also took care of the license for me the day of the wedding; I know I would have forgotten about it. I had a limited time to set up my reception and ceremony area (less than two hours) and I had boxes and boxes of DIY decorations I made. Jodi and Ellen made sure everything was set up and looked perfect. No little detail was forgotten; our sweetheart table and ceremony site looked especially great. At the end of the night, it was great to have help packing up the vehicle. For the price, you can’t beat the service. I got tons of compliments on my invitations, which Jodi created and assembled. If you are a DIY bride, you need to think about who is going to decorate and put out all of your homemade items…it shouldn’t be you, you need to focus on getting married! And it shouldn’t be your family. Let them attend as guests. And it shouldn’t be your bridesmaids, let them have fun, not work! Do yourself a favor and hire a professional like Accents Unlimited to put out all of your items that you created over the past few months.
This company has the best prices on linens. I looked for months. Their prices on black chair covers and gold sashes cannot be beat anywhere.
Also, there was a problem with my credit card and they took care of it right away. I used them in Pittsburgh, PA, and paid for someone to come out and put the chair covers on. They looked perfect and were not wrinkled at all.
I wanted chair covers since I was a little girl, and these were absolutely perfect. They arrived early and were easy to return. Couldn't ask for anything better!
