I worked with Audrey from Hy-Vee florist. I had specific requirements for how I wanted the wedding and reception to look. Audrey met those requirements and went beyond! She was very easy to work with and extremely accessible when I needed to get a hold of her. She made a trial centerpiece 4 months before the wedding so I knew exactly what the centerpieces would like. The arrangements she made for the Alter and the aisle were breathtaking. Audrey and her team made two trips to move the big arrangements from the wedding hall to the reception hall. We received many compliments on our flowers from guest. One of my friends has already booked Audrey for her wedding next year.

Caren made a cake that tasted great and looked beautiful. During the tasting she took notes on what we liked in a cake flavor, design, and presentation. Even if you don't have an idea what you like she will help you decide. Two weeks before my wedding when I needed to give her the final order she reminded me of what we liked and didn't like at our tasting. I did some shopping around and Caren offers one of the best price per piece that I found in the KC area. I gave her a 4 out of 5 on responsiveness not because she didn't get back to me. Caren was great about returning calls. It's that she is a very busy lady and sometimes our calls were interrupted. Although, I learned if you call her earlier in the week she has more time then closer to the weekends where she is usually preparing for a few weddings. Also, one other thing I really like about Caren is that she picked up the cake equipment directly from my venue the next day. This was helpful since I was still busy with out of town guest up until we left for our honeymoon. Other cake vendors said I would need to take the cake equipment back to them.

I booked CaraSue by sending the contract and the retainer fee six months before my wedding. Three months before my wedding she emails me that she can't do hair and makeup for my wedding anymore because her day was "taken up by another project away that she did not anticipate." What exactly is the point of a contract and retainer fee if you can take on another project and cancel?

Maya booked me for hair and makeup for her engagement photos and never got back to me. After I finally heard back from her her she told me that she was no longer needing my services for this and sorry for taking so long to get back to me. I had marked out this day on my schedule. She was not charged for the inconvenience for me. This was on short notice that she decided not to use my services. I did tell Maya that another project was taking me away that I did not anticipate, she is correct. She didn't state that she had changed her timing from the initial conversation. I did apologize when I let her know as well as offer to refer another hair/makeup artist to her and refunded her entire retainer as well as cancelled the contract. She did not dispute this and cashed the check. She was given 3 months notice. Service was not provided to her, she cashed her check, she was given referrals to other artists.
