This woman is INCREDIBLE! She was so helpful in every step of the planning process, she worked with me throughout her pregnancy, and she made my photo-fearing husband so comfortable! I fully plan on using her for pregnancy and family shots for years to come.
I went with Cactus Flower's event group, Accent with Flowers. Corrina Chavez made me a bit nervous, to be honest, when she did not have any pictures of chuppahs with her at our first meeting. My husband and I had a really elaborate idea, and we were nervous as she didn't have any evidence that she was going to be able to do it...but she really produced! She let us tell her exactly what we wanted, and she gave us a very detailed description in our prosposal, which helped to quell our fears. I have gotten literally dozens of emails about our chuppah, so I am thrilled we went with her!
I had a hard time with Honeymoon Sweets. The staff that answered the phone was terrible...but it isn't there fault, as our hotel gave us their back office line, and they aren't supposed to deal with customers (we basically called their warehouse, which confused us and them!) We were also given the wrong address, which caused us to be really annoyed by the time we got to them. As we were part of a package deal with our hotel, I was just going in to pick from a few cakes. I am not the kind of bride that really was worried about my cake, and the ones that I was choosing from seemed really overdone for my minimalist approach. I chose one I liked, and was really excited when they agreed to change the texture of the outside but leave the topping, which made the cake pretty and exotic. The day of the wedding, I was kind of bummed to see that they took EVERYTHING off of the cake and basically brought me a plain cake, sans topping. I got over it, though, and it was pretty nonetheless. The flavors were amazing. No one knew the difference. I guess perhaps it was just a lack of follow thru that annoyed me.
Destiny's Bride was hands-down the best decision that I made. Sarah, Rose and Martha (the world's best seamstress) made my life so much easier, from start to finish. I walked in with an idea of what I wanted, and handed Sarah a picture. She looked at it, asked me what it was that I liked, and handed me a completely different dress. She then reconstructed the dress, added a few things, and although it was nothing like what I wanted, was perfect. I have no idea how she knew what I wanted when even I didn't know what was really what I wanted, but she did. The customer service was impeccable, and Martha made the dress fit like a glove. I told her I plan on bringing my entire wardrobe back to her to be tailored. She looked nervous, but if I could, I would!
I used GreatGatsby for my Save the Dates...it went really smoothly and helped to keep my head calm to know that it was done on-line, because I could track everything via the website. I was too scared to do my invites on line, but that doesn't reflect the website, more my own OCD!
