We chose this venue for its beautiful outdoor setting, and spacious reception site. Overall, the staff were very responsive, but one table was never called to the buffet, so we took it upon ourselves to tell them to get food from the buffet. Some of the items that our florist dropped off weren't used, which would've enhanced the beauty of the ceremony site, but the guests probably didn't notice. Besides these minor issues, the wedding went very well and I'd highly recommend Virginia Oaks Golf Club as a ceremony and/or reception site.
I was extremely pleased with the performance of the Maestro Quartet. They arrived early and the set themselves up without much hassle. The music during the ceremony was beautiful and added just the right emotional touch. They also played during the cocktail hour and provided great music for all of the guests. I searched for many string quartets; the Maestro Quartet provided me with sample music and their price was the most competitive. I'd recommend them to anyone considering a string quartet at their wedding.
Nevien was very nice to work with, and adjusted the flowers to my budget. Everyone loved the arch and the flowers used to decorate the ceremony site. The bouquets were all very pretty, as were the rose petals that we were supposed to have all along the aisle, but because of the rush to get the site ready, someone had forgotten to do it (not Nevien). The only minor complaint is that some of the flowers for the groomsmen started dying, maybe because of the heat outside.
We had to pick up the arch the day prior to the wedding, and it was EXTREMELY difficult getting in touch with her because of phone issues. We'd call one moment and she said she was there, but then the next moment she wasn't. My brother was at the door waiting, knocking on the door, but no answer. This was all very stressful because he had to drop off the arch the day prior to the wedding and it seemed Nevien had disappeared. Finally, we were able to get the arch and it was BEAUTIFUL on the day of the wedding, with a very pretty arrangement on the top and sides of the arch.
Overall, the value for the cost was excellent and despite the minor issues above, I was happy very w/the flowers.
The cake was setup well in advance on the day of the wedding. Victoria makes extremely delicious, soft, wedding cakes and she is usually at most of the major wedding/bridal shows in the area. Everyone loved how the cake looked and how it tasted. The cost was fair and competitive with other bakeries in the area. Try some of their cakes -- I am sure you won't want a cake from anywhere else!
Ed Jackson is a wonderful DJ with an outgoing personality, that can get people on to the dance floor. He was very responsive and made sure he knew how to pronounce the bridal party's names, and reviewed the schedule of events with us before the reception, to make sure we were all on the same page. Also, he was able to obtain all the songs that we'd requested. I would give 5 stars for "quality of service", but I think he stuck to the schedule a little too literally; because our ceremony started a little late, everything was pushed forward a bit, but Ed (the DJ) still stuck to the actual times, which made the reception feel a little rushed. Other than that, I was extremely satisfied with how he performed and his personality as a DJ. I'd highly recommend Ed Jackson as a DJ for any wedding.

Barbara is extremely professional, kind, and patient. I was extremely satisifed with her services. She arrived early on the day of my wedding, and applied my makeup, my mother-in-law's, and my own mother, who arrived late and Barbara was patient enough to wait for her. Everyone said that I looked beautiful and gorgeous, so I was really happy to hear all the compliments. Barbara's price is very fair and there weren't any hidden costs. I highly recommend Barbara to do your makeup.
