I've worked with many florists in the New York City area (Belle Fleur, Takashimaya, Chestnuts in the T, Spruce, the list goes on) and I have NEVER had a more positive experience than working with Jessy of Fleurs. She is a true professional and so easy to work with. I loved that I would explain my vision and she'd email me immediately with inspirations, ideas, etc. I went to the flower market with her and she took me through all the flowers she was thinking of using. I received so many compliments about my flowers at the wedding... I couldn't be more happy with Fleurs!
VERY pricy but I truly believe Elisa's worth every penny! I usually think wedding cake is gross... But this cake was probably the best cake I've ever had (hurrah!). Moist, soft, fresh, and GORGEOUS, most importantly! It was a true work of art. Elisa is very detail oriented and will ask to see your invite, your dress, etc, in order to create the perfect cake for you. I really enjoyed working with her!
Mark Ingram is THE place to go if you want personalized service and a boutique feel. I deliberately chose to AVOID the awful stress that is Kleinfeld's... I really wanted a chic, luxurious, cozy feel and really personalized service and I got that at Mark Ingram! I worked with Anju who I clicked with immediately. She understood what I wanted and introduced me to the designer Elizabeth Fillmore, who I never would've thought to consider! I highly recommend Mark Ingram!
Choosing invitations was one of those things that I was SUPER keen on doing for the wedding... Even if my family and husband didn't quite understand why anyone would spend so much on paper! But I have a deep appreciation of stationery... as do the girls at Hello! Lucky! I had the best time working with them. They custom-created something for me based on a template they have and were SO patient throughout my 15 proofs (yes, 15). In the end, I was SO pleased with what they created that I plan to frame the invite! Note: they specialize in Letterpress,which gives a gorgeous vintage feel. Great for beach or garden weddings, very romantic!!
Party Rental Ltd. - New York City New York, New York 10016
If you live in the NYC area, Party Rental Ltd (the pink hippo company) is the obvious choice! They have the greatest selection of chairs, plates, etc. I loved that they had almost every color of chiarivari chair available. I worked with Errin there, who was very quick to respond to emails and very helpful. We did a trial with the table clothes, which was great. Their showroom is very easily accessible by subway, which is wonderful!
