And, how excited would you be if I delayed leaving for Spain until the day after your wedding? Would that make you feel like the completely special friend that you are???
Throughout the wedding process Kathy was very helpful and responsive. She went above and beyond her normal duties to help make our day special. Because of her, I didn't have to worry about anything when planning the wedding, she handled everything that had to do with the venue including: flowers, linens, decor, the cake, the rehearsal, etc. The food was excellent and the open bar was definitely worth every penny. The cake was not what I had ordered and clashed with the rest of the decor, but guests tell me that it still tasted great.
No event runs perfectly. The only downsides to the event include: 1) when I arrived I was faced with another bride. Normally I wouldn’t care, but we had paid for a buy out of the restaurant. Another event coordinator double booked the venue, but Kathy resolved the problem quickly. 2) Once the reception was over the staff began to break down the room immediately and my mother was asked to clean out the bridal suite. I was upset to see her and another guest crawling around on the floor gathering everyone’s belongings. We were told our guests could stay in the room until they were ready to close, but security pushed guests out and would not allow them to re-enter. For the amount of money we spent, I assumed they would have made an attempt to straighten up the bridal suite and make it easier for the bridesmaids to gather their things. Rather than leaving everything on the floor under the tables.
Nonetheless, when we explained our disappointment Kathy she worked with my mother and me to rectify the situation. Overall, I had a beautiful wedding and I would recommend this venue.
We LOVED working with Trish & Jared! The pictures are amazing and the service is exceptional. They were always in communication with and whenever I had a question Trish got back to me ASAP! The blog adds a nice touch since it allows you to preview their work and you can see all the places they normally shoot!
The DJ was very nice and arrived early. My husband loved him from the moment they talked! Tiffany was very responsive via email. I never had to wait longer than an hour to hear back about a question. However, if I wanted to get a hold of her via phone it was much more difficult.
The lights that the DJ was supposed to provide for the dance floor were not used. There were several songs on my song list that did not get played and there was no explanation. There were several short lags between songs and I anticipated a little bit more crowd interaction but overall he did a good job. I would recommend this vendor but I was not overly excited about the service.
We found Little Pastry Chefs at the bridal show and decided we wanted them to do our wedding cake. The cake tasting was amazing and we had a hard time chosing which we wanted. It turned out that our venue would not allow us to bring in a cake from an outside vendor so we decided to use our deposit to make cookie favors instead. The cookies looked and tasted great. Since they were monogrammed and personalized, they were a little expensive at $3.75/cookie (we ordered 110) but it was not wasted. Guests were asking eachother if they wanted their cookie or if they can take it! At the end of the night all the cookies were gone and the guests loved them!
We got all of the rings and bridal party gifts at Kays. The service we recieved was excellent. To this day when we go into the store, the staff knows our name and rushes over to ask how the wedding planning is going. The process of ordering jewlery that is not available in the store takes about a month. The staff is excellent and the warranty is worth every penny!!
