This location was perfect. It is a mountain resort in Dahlonega, GA. They have lodge facilities that were perfect for our 120 person wedding. Most of our guests were able to stay with us for a long labor day weekend and had just a great time. The wedding coordinator was amazingly responsive and handled every little detail I asked for promptly and without reminder.
Forrest Hills also provided the food and cake for our event and both were wonderful. Our guests raved about the food and the cake choices included in our price were beautiful.
Candice is an old friend and did a wondeful job on my wedding. She was very attentive and took hundreds of photographs. She immediately turned around one picture right after the reception before we left on our honeymoon so that I could post it to family and friends. Candice is a joy to work with.
I bought my dress at Silver Lining in Atlanta. It's a store that carries plus size samples which is great for me. I am a size 16 and had a hard time trying on dresses that come in a stock size 10. Most of the dresses at silver lining were size 20 and larger, but at least you can get it on and see what it looks like. I ordered my dress and the bridesmaid dresses from them. The orders came in on time and as ordered. The only complaint I have is the customer service. The lady primarily in charge of brides is very overbearing and has an attitude. The owner herself is great and when I could deal with her, I did, but the woman who would call me periodically was frustrating. Also, when you go into the store, you typically have to wait a bit before being assisted as they never seem to have enough staff on duty.
Overall, I'm happy to have found the store as it gave me the opportunity to try on many styles of dresses, but I wish they would replace Jennifer.
Our DJ, Scott Mikkel was wonderful. He agreed to stay an extra half hour for a small additional fee and was very meticulous about playing the songs we wanted and checking with us before playing anything we had blacked out, even if requested by our guests. I was very pleased with their service.
The invitations ultimately turned out wondefully. The first time the invitiations arrived, there was a mistake but that was quickly fixed at no cost to me. The programs were turned around in less than 3 weeks. The price was high, but the quality was good.
I rented 240 chair covers, sashes, table clothes, napkins, and table runners. This company was easy to order from, had a nice show room with all samples, allowed me to modify my order up to 2 weeks before the event, and the product was shipped to my door 2 days before our event. I was also provided with bags and labels to have the rentals picked up for return. The price was not cheap, but the quality was impressive, and the service exceptional.
