Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. Mark Twain
About Me
I'm 29 and have been through hell and back. But when I came out on the other side, I had a beautiful son who is now 4 going on 24 and a man who cherishes me and has taught me that I am worthy of being loved and that I am more than capable of loving someone else. I am happy with my life. I have a wonderful family and great friends and am looking
Rants
The fact that most bridal shops have only small sizes in particular dresses so I can't see what they look like on my plus size bridesmaids. WTF?
Raves
I started early enough where I have the time to keep from getting stressed. And I love, love, LOVE my ceremony and reception venue.

Our Story

Carlos and I met our freshman year of high school. We were really good friends who flirted often but never acted on it. Until he asked me out at the end of senior year. I don't remember saying yes but he swears that i did and blew him off after graduation. I went into the military and left NY. We didn't see or speak to each other for 8 1/2 years. I found him through another high school  friend via myspace. We began talking again there and reconnected face to face at our 10 year high school reunion. We went to dinner a few days later and picked up where the friendship left off years earlier but with a new found physical attraction and a much more mature look at life and have been together ever since.

The Ring

My ring is a 1.3ct round cut center stone surrounded by 16 (8 on each side) accent diamonds that equal to .8ct  in a 14kt white gold band.

Our Wedding Plans

We are getting married on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at The Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY. Both the ceremony and reception will take place there. We got engaged in March and knew we wanted time to plan the wedding of our dreams (mostly mines). This has given us plenty of time to decide what we really want and allows us the time to pay it off. We have the ceremony and reception site, catering is included. We have chosen our photographer, florist and dj. And we have even decided on our favors. This has made it easier for us to spread out payments and not be rushed to pay everyone at once. All that's left to do is finalize the guestlist, decide on save the dates and invitations, and book the limos. Our colors are Royal blue and ivory with some silver accents. The bridesmaids dresses are picked out and my dress has been narrowed down to 2 choices. Only issue i'm having is he thinks he's picking out a suit without me. As if I am going to let that happen. I'm keeping a close watch on him and his friends.

Our Planning Experience

So far so good.
