How We Met…
During a lunch break, I decided to venture in to a shoe store that I had shopped at on occasion. The store manager was friendly, helpful and easy on the eyes (I might add!). After selecting the shoes that I wanted, I learned that they were not available in my size. Somewhat deflated, I resolved to chalk this outing up to a window shop. Just as I was about to leave, the manager brought to my attention that he could have the shoes shipped there from another store and that he would contact me when the shoes arrived. When the shoes did arrive, I was away on business travel and was not able to return to the store for several weeks, which coincided with the Christmas holiday. Upon hearing that the shoes were no longer there, I assumed that they had (reasonably) been sold. As it turned out, they had indeed been sold…to the friendly, helpful store manager, as a gift to me! How can you not fall for a man who understands a woman and her shoes?!
Our First Date…
Talk about a memorable first date! After two months of deep, soul exploring phone conversations, I accepted Felix’s offer of the standard dinner and a movie. The date was comfortable, conversation was effortless. After dinner conversation in the car was consumed with family stories and how we both felt the need to honor family roots and ties. Felix invited me in to look at family photos. I happily accepted. After a few hours he walked me to my car. Well, let me say it was his intention to walk me to my car. We got outside to discover that my car had been towed because I did not have the necessary permission to park at the complex. That is a date to remember!
The Engagement…
Easter symbolizes resurrection and new life. At what I expected to be the usual, uneventful Easter dinner, Felix proposed the possibility of a “new life”…with him! We were invited to his aunt’s house for Easter dinner. My parents were also invited. As we gathered around the table, Felix offered to give the blessing. Before doing so, he launched into a touching speech about the importance of family and rarity of finding that “special someone”. Before I knew it, he was on one knee asking for my hand in marriage (with the prior consent of my father)!
Our Bond…
Felix is the light of my life. Even though we’ve been together for just three years, I find it hard to imagine life without him. I can't express how proud I am of all his accomplishments and for the strong, caring, supportive person that he is. After all these years I still get butterflies anytime I look at him. If there ever was the smallest ember of doubt about a future with Felix, it was extinguished when my father became ill. Unable to walk on his own, my father was in excruciating pain. Without hesitation or falter, Felix carried him on his back in to the hospital. I imagine that the image of that act will carry me through many tough times in our future. There is a movie that melts my heart every time I watch it. It’s called “What Dreams May Come”. The movie explores soul mates, their connection seeing no barriers when it comes to being with that person. Felix is indeed my soul mate, there is nothing that would or could keep me from him.
The Ring
My ring is 2 1/2 carats by a designer named Peter Lam. I love my ring! I give Felix about five different rings to choose from and the one that I really liked is the one that he chosed.

Our Planning Experience
Planning has been great! I Felix has not said one word about the wedding. All he does is hand his check over to me.
He told me that I can do whatever I liked. Only thing he wanted to do was pick out the tuxdeos for the guys. I guess this is the typical
man`s propective. Oh! Well! I did hirer a DOC for the month out. She has been great thus far! Leslie Weeks Billy from lesliemanningevents. com.
Our Advice
The biggest advise I can tell someone is do not over spend! It is will be a nice day without breaking the bank!
Most of all go on a honeymoon! After all of the celebrations, you need to go and relax!
Congrats! To the sweetest person I've ever met. I truly am soooo glad that God has blessed you with such a wonderful, God fearing man. This is one wedding I would not miss for anything.

Oxon Hill Manor is on of the most beautiful places to get married at in the Washington, DC Metro Area! From the first time I toured the Manor, I knew it was the place for my wedding! The house is fantastic! The views of the Potomac River are breathtaking! Our out of town guest was just 1 ? mile away at the National Harbor. Perfect location for ceremony and reception!
We wanted to say thank you for all of your help with our wedding! Everything was absolutely perfect and beautiful! I wish I could tell you how many times over the weekend I was complimented on the choice of location for the ceremony and reception. Thanks again!
Peace & Blessings, Lisa & Felix

We just wanted to give some feedback on the wedding catering. Everything went perfectly....the food was delicious, everything was the right temperature, set up was gorgeous, etc. I could not have been more pleased! Also, I wanted to compliment the servers...they had a perfect balance of friendliness and professional demeanor, they were awesome! They were efficient as well. Our guest are still talking about the food! Thanks so much again, it was a great event thanks to you and your staff! Thanks so much!
Anytime Alterations did the alterations on my Wedding gown. My gown was just perfect! I could not find the right veil for my gown, one was custom made for me to go with my Wedding gown. Service was fast and excellent!
Unlike most of the David Bridal comments, My experience was great! I found all of my bridemaids dresses and other accessories at the Springfield location. I was happy with the service and quaility of the products.
