Christine was wonderful to work with and very open to ideas and designs. She was much more reasonable for cost than most bakeries as she has her own business at home. Why pay $800.00 for a wedding cake?? Absurd! She is very pleasant and made an absolutely delicious cake! Our cake was a hexagonal 3 tier dark chocolate covered almond cake with crushed almonds in the batter and cherry filling...YUM!!
I was referred to this vendor by a former co-worker who supposedly arranged a "deal" for us. Well, this is what our $750.00 paid for: Playing the WRONG BRIDAL MARCH SONG, even though a disc was provided for her at the start of the event! Playing horrible reception music which no one danced to, despite a LONG LIST OF MUST PLAY SONGS BEING PROVIDED TO HER PRIOR TO THE EVENT, WHICH WERE NOT PLAYED! NOT playing the dedication song from the Groom to the Bride at all! Waiting until almost the end of the event to play the father daughter dance, and the parent's dances, which my folks almost missed because my mom had to go to the ER and of course my father went with her.
When I asked her about all this, she ( Gail, the OWNER!!) proceeded to blame every one else for the mistakes, including my planner, and the girl who cued her music before the event. I'm sorry, shouldn't you be checking your stuff before you go to an event to make sure you are PREPARED?!?!?! She didn't even have the dedication song...she merely said she didn't bring it, although of course it was on the list we provided her days in advance. She was very unapologetic and didn't offer a damn thing to make up for it. My incredible planner DID get her to waive the $125.00 fee she wanted to charge me for the extra hour of "service", but this had to be asked for...what kind of good business is that?!?!
I would NOT recommend this vendor to anyone for any event...especially NOT your wedding! :o(
I took a risk ordering my invitations, meal cards, envelopes, and response cards sight unseen from an online vendor, and much to my delight and surprise, they came out absolutely gorgeous! Great value for the money and fast processing! Worry and hassle free!
Our original officiant was Robert DeMarco of A Band of Gold. He and his mother are both JP's and after interviewing him, we decided to book him early this year. Unfortunately, when we went to touch base with him about 6 weeks before the wedding, we found out that he had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer two weeks prior and understandably had forgotten to call us. However, his mother, Beverly DeMarco stepped in and took over all the events that he had contracted with. Let me tell you, she is an absolutely wonderful and amazing lady. Pete and I met with her at her house, she welcomed us and made us feel right at home. After 10 minutes, we felt like we had known her forever, and like she was family. She even tried to feed us!! LOL She went over everything and showed us what she read, and made sure we were satisfied with everything. She allowed us to tweak a few things here and there and loved the extra vows we wrote for each other. ( we're funny folks so we are told and our vows reflected that). On our wedding day we insisted she stay and have dinner with our families...which she did. All in all, if you are looking for a warm, genuine person to give you a very non-denominational, non-religion spouting service, she is for you!! :o)
ps: I cannot imagine her being the way the other reviewer wrote; the only thing I can think of that might have been the reason for her alleged actions would be her stress level being through the roof as Robert had just been diagnosed and given 3 months to live. That would be a bit stressful for any parent I'm sure, especially since he is her only child as well. He is putting up a fight, but it sadly the outcome will not change. Please don't hold it against her...we really did have a great time with her and absolutely recommend her.
All I can say is WOW!!! I cannot recommend this vendor enough!! Pete and I are both in emergency medicine, which means we are fast moving, fast thinking, are used to getting everything accomplished yesterday and utterly OCD in just about everything we need to get done. We are very short on patience with morons, slowness, and folks who can't think ahead of the moment. Diane was not only able to adjust to our quirks, but she is even faster than us!! :o)
We never had to call her; she called us with updates, ideas, suggestions, accomplishments, vendor issues, and was an absolute joy to work with. She informed us of so many things that we never even knew we might need or to expect..we would NOT have made it without her!! I affectionately called her my Pit Bull Planner....she is relentless and tireless in meeting any and all of your needs, and goes far above and beyond anything even we could have expected or wanted. We would have paid a million for her if we could have, and cannot say just how priceless she is. She made our every experience a better one and took so much pressure off of us that we didn't realize we were carrying otherwise.
If you don't like someone who is direct, honest, and utterly ruthless about getting you what you want... then don't book her. However, if you want a no bullshit type of planner who is professional, open, and very down to earth, yet who will also tell you in no uncertain terms if something isn't right or not possible, then BOOK HER NOW!!!!!!!!!!
