We received about half the services that were discussed. The flowers that were there were nice, but we had ceremony flowers falling off the pews before the ceremony. Missing flower petals, missing swag at the ceremony and reception, bride's bouquet in a different design than requested, missing flower petals at the ceremony, missing ribbon to hold the pew flowers...anyway, although Kerim is a very nice man, I do not feel I got the attention I deserved or paid for. Prior to the wedding he did not return my phone calls and his "assistant" arrived over an hour late to deliver the flowers to us.

Our cake was beautiful and arrived in good condition. The only concern was we requested blue or blue with some light lavender in our flowers and gave our cake decorator color swatches to match and we ended up with dark purple flowers on our cake which did not match our color scheme at all. Nonetheless, none of our guests knew and the cake was delicious so it all turned out okay in the end. But I do remember saying to my husband as soon as I saw the cake...do you recall us asking for purple flowers???

I can't say enough about Sherry McAnelly. She is the sweetest, most talented woman ever! She had me looking gorgeous by the time she left and although I did go over my budget for hair and make-up, she was well worth it. The curl in my hair did start falling out before the ceremony but we had our pre-ceremony pictures taken my the marina and it was somewhat breezy and humid so it's not something I would blame on her but just as an fyi to future brides...make sure you have a curling iron with you ALL DAY. I would have given anything to get my hands on one before the ceremony began. My hair was pretty trashed looking for most of the day. But the make-up stayed perfect...well into the late night without even getting shinny...and I have super oily skin too. I was amazed! My bridesmaids all looked great and they loved their "long" eyelashes. Most of them had never even worn fake eyelashes so that was a treat for them. Their make-up also looked great, all except for my Mom who some reason came out with a totally white face and super dark eyes and lipstick. It was not complementary at all but I'm not sure which of Sherry's assistants worked on her so I can't really comment too much, but otherwise we all looked great.

We went to Blue Nile for my engagement ring based on a recommendation from an Engagement Ring Buying guide. Let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed. The website was incredible! It let you put in a budget and choose your specifications on everything and it would tell you what they have in their inventory. We got an incredible deal on a .97 carat diamond that is colorless and an EXACT perfect square in princess cut. I knew the setting I wanted, but unfortunately Blue Nile didn't offer the side stones I wanted. My fiance called and spoke to a representative who recommended just buying the diamond from them and having it set by the company that made the setting we wanted. The thought hadn't even entered our mind and we couldn't believe how well it worked out! The diamond came to us very quickly and wrapped very well. We had all the specifications we needed about our diamond ahead of time to have the setting made up as we awaited the diamond in the mail and in about two weeks I had the engagement ring of my dreams on my finger. They were great!

I booked Uyen shortly before my wedding as I was getting nervous with all I still had to do. I had a pretty strict budget by this time and Uyen worked with me to get me what she could for the price. She ended up doing just "day of" coordinating (which definitely worked out to more than just the day of) and only the reception (since I had a coordinator at the ceremony site). What can I say. She's a pro! She was asking all sorts of questions I never thought to ask my vendors and she was not only the sweetest and thoughtful thing ever, but she was assertive when she needed to be. My only wish was that I had hired her to oversee the entire thing. I had so many things go wrong (most out of my control) that I really needed someone there to tell the florist that the set up was wrong, or the flowers on the cake were wrong, or they had forgotten to hang the lights and swag, or to provide new directions to my guests when there was a road closure between our church and reception site...etc. It would've been great if we had worked together on the whole thing so she could've known about these things, but from the little time we had before the wedding to get to know each other and for her to get to know my wedding, she did an AMAZING job. The reception site was gorgeous and with so much going on she executed the night beautifully. I will definitely be hiring her for the next big function I throw...and will not spare any expense next time!
