We chose the Westfields Marriott for our ceremony and reception venue due to it's wonderful decor. From start to finish (with planning) it was absolutely phenomenal. We worked with Anne Wood for the initial sales/marketing and then with Kelly Andrews (who's fabulous) for the event planning. We did everything in the Fairfax Dining room/Palm Court area and each of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever seen.
Kelly Andrews is top notch and helped us create the best day of our lives. The Marriott team was responsive, flexible, accommodating, wonderful service, etc. Absolutely the best. I cannot have imagined our day any other way.
The food was great, decor amazing, the uplighting and sound was perfect. I believe we were the first couple to host all 3 events in the space (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception). The upstairs dining room was the most elegant location.
Garrett is the best! There isn't enough room to write about Garrett and his assistant Kevin. They are simply the best in the business, affordable, and highly skilled & talented. Photography was the one area that was most important to us. Our wedding was filled with lots of lighting, diversity of people, and very intricate room decor at Westfields. Our goal was to capture the essence of the night with more storytelling style photography and less traditional photography. Garrett did just that.
As my husband says "Garrett is the man." My husband (then groom) was not too familiar with the art of wedding photography and even he was amazed by the true art of what Garrett was able to capture...AMAZING! Garrett uses unique lighting techniques and provides an interactive photo booth for guests with instant pictures captured and shown digitally throughout the reception. It was a lot of fun for our guests.
Words cannot even describe how wonderful a celebration this was and how amazing the photos were. He is truly the best at what he does. My husband and I look forward to working with Garrett again in the future. Photography is the essence of capturing our most treasured union and we are so blessed and thankful to have worked with Garrett Hubbard photography.
God truly smiled down upon us with his work. Garrett---you are a genius! Outstanding job.
Chantilly Flower Gallery Chantilly, Virginia 20151
We were so blessed to have great vendors to work with...most of which we found here on Wedding Wire - the Flower Gallery of Chantilly was no exception.
Rick Thompson as many have already stated is outstanding. The Purple/Lavender themed (Chartreuse accented) wedding flowers he created were awesome. I had such a fun time working with Rick. He understood our vision, budget, and his experience in the area was so helpful. He was able to help us create a unique decor that would work within our price range and still maintain a sense of elegance.
We probably met with Rick about 6 or 7 times...and each time he was patient, friendly, and always willing to be flexible. We were very indecisive customers and Rick kept us completely focused the entire time. The bouquets and floral arrangements were perfect. Rick was such a pleasure to work with.
He really went the extra mile for my husband and I and we really appreciated working with him. The flowers on the cake were so beautiful. We intend on working with Rick again. His enthusiasm lit up the room when he arrived on the day of the wedding to deliver everything...just a pleasure to work with.
Call Rick, he's great and will make your wedding day or any floral needs the very best.
Carolyn is the best, simply stated. We used our cake as the dessert for the reception and it was gone within minutes. People wanted to know if there was any extra (lol).
We did a 4 tier vanilla cake with strawberry chocolate chip mousse filling. Carolyn is the best. She's friendly, completely flexible, and the cake looked amazing.
We'll be back for our 1 year anniversary cake because I don't think we'll be able to wait a year (smile). Carolyn - you are the best and thank you for making our cake so special.
The Allison Barnhill Design team was phenomenal. I was referred to Allison by my wedding planner - Engaging Affairs. I did an initial visit where we walked through the vision, theme, and outlined a budget. Allison and her team are the best kept secret for Invitations/stationery in the Washington DC area.
Before going to Allison my husband and I had probably met with 4 other companies. It took us less than an hour to agree that Allison was the one. The team is highly creative, flexible, and communicates frequently with the bride/groom. We loved the fact that Allison and team were able to digitally send us designs, concepts, and proofs via email. It was so efficient and convenient. Our invitations were based on a Purple Passion theme and looked remarkable. They were so elegant and we received numerous compliments on the look and style of our invitations. To view the invitations simply log onto the Allison Barnhill Blog (archives). Allison and team also designed our seating cards and placecards which matched our invitation theme.
In addition to being a great place for invitations I also learned that Allison made veils. In my search for the perfect cathedral length veil that wouldn't break our budget I worked with Allison to design an amazing 120" cathedral length veil which I wore for the wedding ceremony. She is highly skilled and talented. The veil was simply stated and added a touch of timeless appeal to my strapless gown. Allison and the team are simply amazing. We HIGHLY recommend getting your invitations, other stationery, and even your veil from there.
Jeanette's Bride 'N Tux Boutique Manassas, Virginia 20108
I found my bridesmaids dresses and bridal gown at Jeanettes. Katrina was my contact person and from start to finish was the reason we used Jeanettes for a majority of our dress & attire needs. She is top notch and extremely helpful. It took me a few months to find the gown of my dreams and thankfully I found Jeanettes Bridal.
Jeanette's holds several trunk shows from various designers and offers a wide range of bridal gown and Bridesmaids selections. I worked with Katrina during a Simone Carvalli trunk show and found "my gown." She was so pleasant and the nicest staff member there. She's always smiling and extremely helpful to all customers. I explained my style and budget and she worked closely with me to find the right gown....and that we did!! We did standard fittings and the alterations team did a phenomenal job in ensuring the perfect fit for the gown.
Katrina - thank you so much for all of your help. You made "my gown" dream come true. The versatility and style of the Simone Carvalli dress allowed us to have several looks for the day. The detachable train was a huge hit.
Future brides - take your time in finding your gown. Work with individuals like Katrina who bring so much knowledge and experience and can truly help you on your wedding day. I didn't know much about fabrics, etc. and Katrina worked with me to help me understand the different wedding gown styles and fabric and helped me bring my vision into a reality.

We booked through Bialeks for all of our ceremony and reception music. We wanted a different spin on the ceremony music and met Guitarist Brian Litz at a Wedding Show. Brian is such an amazing musician. We plays a variety of genres and we were so happy we used him. He's responsive and was able to play all song selections we provided him. We didn't need any other musicians. Brian - your music was so graceful and so elegant.
We were originally looking at a band for the reception but decided against it based on the variety of music and the physical space in our location. He met with DJ Dan Goldman and decided to book him for the event. All I can say was Dan kept our reception party going the entire night. Our guests truly enjoyed Dan's music and his energy as host. We provided Dan our playlist one week before the wedding (which included several genres) and he played everything. Our song selections were a true reflection of how much fun my husband and I like to have fun. We kept the dance floor packed all night. We also wanted non-traditional songs for our entrance, father/daughter dance, etc. Dan was able to find the special request we needed for our intro and we literally danced the night away. DAN...you are the MAN!! We can't wait to work with you again.
I'm so glad we went with a DJ and with Dan Goldman. We'll surely use him again. The price was a bit higher than we expected but it was totally worth it in the end.
Mike Eaves - such a pleasure to work you and Jim Ratliffe. 5ive Star did a great job. It was so nice to work with you. Mike, really took the time to understand what we wanted to capture for our ceremony and reception. We had alot of fun working with Mike. 5ive Star has flexible packages, great videographers, and very professional.

Shaune Hayes from Bridal Artistry is a gift from the beauty consulting angels. I found Bridal Artistry here through Wedding Wire and contacted Barbara. She put me in touch with Shaune and it was makeup beauty at first site. Her work and artistry was phenomenal, she was extremely pleasant to work with, and my bridal party and I looked fabulous when she was finished.
Shaune really did a nice job at my consultation so there was no question that we needed her for the big day. I highly recommend all brides get their makeup professionally done. Shaune - you are so talented and I've never felt more beautiful. The makeup blended well and lasted the entire night.
Kudos to you and Barbara for making our party look like the dream team. We had a very diverse wedding party and you did a fantastic job.
