Designing Your Wedding Inspiration

  2 of 7

It's All in the Details!

The overall look and theme of your wedding can be taken up a notch with the right décor. Tabletop elements should work together and complement the overall look and feel of the room and the theme of the wedding. Whether you have chosen a modern, romantic, or minimalist vision for your wedding, the right accents will wow your guests.
At a typical seated reception, your guests could spend up to 4 hours at their table, so items like china, glassware, linen, flatware, chairs, and tables should all be taken into account when deciding on the look of the reception.
Inquire with your reception venue as many will provide complimentary items along with the rental of the space. If these items are not included or you would like to go above and beyond the venue's offerings, there are plenty of party rental companies who will be happy to work with you to make your room look amazing! Specialty rental items could include any of the basics listed above or things like couches, chairs, lighting, and other props to create a unique and more personalized atmosphere.
Determine the size of your tables and the number of guests seated at each table before settling on your tabletop décor. Don't forget to leave room for your centerpieces as well as things like candles, table names/numbers, place cards, menu cards, or favors on the table. And most importantly, make sure you give your guests enough elbow room!
Consider your venue's décor when determining your wedding theme. It always looks cleaner and more consistent if the colors and styles complement the room or outdoor space. An outdoor garden party reception might not require the same rental items as a black tie evening soiree in a hotel ballroom.
It is always helpful if you, your venue, caterer, rental company, and florist can all meet at the venue and determine a cohesive look that works with your wedding theme and that satisfies the vision you've created in your mind. Remember, this is your wedding, make sure it's the wedding of your dreams!
