Weddings & Dollar Tree
Just thought I'd throw a WR post out there...... :)

So.... who have bought stuff for the wedding from Dollar Tree? What did you buy, what are you using it for? What are your ideas? And any Dollar Tree tips for other brides?

So far, I bought baskets for the FG baskets, floating candles, embelishments (sp?), stones, a tote bag for a BM and will be buying champagne/wine glasses. I'm sure there will be more later!

And I'd like to end with a little note:

Keep the peace people! Please....keep the peace! :)

I ordered my cylinder vases, and shorter squared ones, and black marbles.
I ordered it online in the case and picked it up in the store so that we could save on shipping. I will probably get wine glasses too because I want to make my bridal party their own personalized glass.
My tip is to make sure you print out the order paper before picking up your items, I did my order through my phone and couldn't print out a copy, but had my id, so it worked!

Dollar Tree - props for DIY photobooth (masks, glasses, swords, cheerleader set...) We have a closeout store in the Cleveland/Akron area called Marc's where I picked up a lot of things, including beautiful candle lanterns for 99 cents each!

I LOVE Dollar Tree! I bought stemmed tealight holders in 3 different sizes to use in my centerpieces, bubbles, battery operated tea lights.

I bought a bunch of different glass containers for my the drink garnish(lemons, limes, etc) and our candy buffet. I also bought a cylander vase for my bouquet and tweaked it to change to my wedding. Last but not least, I bought some craft sticks to make my lollipop labels for the wrapperless candy on the buffet. I haven't made the lollipop labels yet.

I have also filled my welcome bags with things from the Dollar Tree: Tylenol packs, hand sanitizer, and stuff like that.

I haven't bought anything in Dollar Tree, but I have used my fair share of 50% off coupons in Michaels and AC Moore. :)

I plan to use Dollar Tree and any other discount store for things. It is one day I don't want to break the bank over. I have a soon-to-be 18 year who will be starting college this fall and his education is way more important than how much I spend for my one day.

I bought the Groomsman gifts (beer mugs) from them and then took them to things remembered and had them etched. I also bought juice boxes and snacks to put in my OOT bags and kids favor boxes.

I still wish there was a dollar tree here. LOL "The Great Canadian Dollar Store" carries very few items that are $1..

I bought plastic cups- about 320 for $20. I will go back there for my plastic forks too- 48 for $1. I bought these really sweet tea light holders that have nice sayings about Family and Home for the parent's tables and our head table. I also got serving bowls and platters.
I bought my votives at Big Lots. You can order online too. 12 candles with glass votive holder for $6.

Thanks Rosie. Congrats on those 50% off coupons too! I love them! I think it is a mortal sin to shop at either Michaels or AC Moore without a coupon. lolol

Actually, I forgot my first find at Dollar Tree. This was wooden and needed to be sanded etc, but we needed the spray pain anyway, so we went for it for our welcome table. I was hoping to find "Love" or other appropriate things, but haven't seen them since I bought it before Christmas.

I haven't bought from Dollar Tree yet, but I read from another forum (theknot) that alot of brides have used them and they are pretty good. You can get dollar glass vases, candle holders and such.

I plan on getting some for to make my DIY centerpieces for my cocktail tables.
