I have been thinking about this alot myself since I wouldn't be getting very expensive wedding favors but at the same time I don't want to put a cheap looking bag of jordan almonds on the tables. My fiance and I were thinking of donating to one or two charities in honor of those we know who have passed away (such as american cancer society, etc). You could even just do a charity that you support, such as go green or something of that nature. All you would have to do is print out cards to put on each table explaining what you did-- you don't even have to print one per person. Also, you can give as much or as little as you desire since that won't be listed on the card. So essentially you can set your own price for the favors. Good luck-- if you don't like this idea I'm sure you'll find something. Places like orientaltrading.com sell some cool, inexpensive things in bulk

My fiance and I were thinking of not having wedding favors for awhile (although our wedding isn't out of town), but we recently changed our mind. At Hobby lobby they have round pieces of tulle, 100 for $10 (I think it was $10, it at least wasn't any more then that). So you can get candy and put it in the center of the tulle then wrap it closed w/ a ribbon. for 150 guests you could get 200 pieces then have 50 extra for mess ups or to practice on. Then you can buy candy in bulk. At the knot you can buy M&M's in specific colors. Or you can shop around local areas that sell candy and see what they have to offer. I think candy makes a good favor since it gets eaten instead of sitting around collecting dust. I also think it saves money, b/c it'd be about $40 for the tulle, $5 for ribbon to seal them, and maybe $40 for candy (guessing), so that's $85 opposed to a little trinket that costs $1.50 each and costs you $250 in the end.
I hope that helped ^^

Im having a wedding half your size --less than 75 and I went to Odd Lots/Big Lots and they have gold, silver, or red chargers for about $1 - $1.25. I purchased 2 red ones (for me and FH) and the rest in gold for our guests. I then found snazzy looking peel and stick blank stickers from an office supply store. I ran them trhough my computer to say something along the lines of thank you for sharing our day take your charger as a token of thanks. I then put a sticker on the back of each charger. It does double duty for me. I get the look of a fancy set table and give my guests a gift at the same time. All charges left at the venue will add to my dinner collection at home. (win win)

Hi,our wedding is 220ppl..ugh :)but for favors instead of the traditional stuff we are making cd's and putting them in paper envelopes with riboon tied around them and using them for our seating and our favors. We'll be calling the cd "the soundtrack of our lives" just a thought...it's very inexpensive and you can do it yourself. Hope this helps! Good luck

Favors don't have to be a headache, even for 150 guests. I would recommend personalized hershey bars. They are quick, simple, and easy to transport to any destination. Check out www.thecandybarwrapper.com Hope this helps :)

I am doing tall shot glasses... they are 96 cents each and are doubling as both favors and bud vases that the escort cards will be attached to for seating at the reception. We are having our names put on them along with the wedding date and we think people will really get use of out them AFTER the wedding.
I think the site I am ordering them from is www.customglassware.com
they have tons of ideas!!!

I am having the same amount of guests at my out of town wedding as well. My fiance and I are ordering picture frames and using them as either the place card holder or putting a pic of us in them, Im not sure which yet. However, did you know that you can order bulk items from the dollar tree? I hope you find the website as helpful as I did. Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

This may or may not help for your guests but, if you plan a bachlorette party with us at Cadiz-fyi it's all free for you and your guests- we would be happy to give out $50 gift vouchers for a number of your guests to come and try our services now, this may cause a problem because, they may be out of town but, maybe for special guests you can use this idea. Same goes for everyone else looking around.
Just signed up with weddingwire, pics will be coming soon.

We have around 130 pp invited and we have thought about the favors alot I am doing small gold pic frames with place cards in them and as cheesy as this sounds because it is a fall theme I want popcorn balls and carmal apples with fall colored jimmies at first everyone thought I was nuts but when they seen them with everything it helped pull it together some how. I love fall and those are my favorite fall treats.I found 2 places that do fund raiser stuff so they are pretty good cost wise.

Each couple does so, depending on tradions and what they feel is best for their wedding reception. Usually a favor is a little thank you to their guests, for coming and sharing their wedding day with them.
They don't have to be anything big or expensive, sometimes just an added decoration to their table setting.

Enjoy your planning,
Debbie

I ordered the coaster sets that say love on them with personalized tags. For 140 with shipping it was $197. I figure people can always use coasters and two come in the pack. Soem sites have them on sale right now. Try www.favorfavor.com

We got Christmas celephane bags in a candy cane design and we are going to put Christmas candy in each and then we purchased crochet picture frames ornaments that we are going to "tie" the bags up with.

I am getting plastic wine glasses and that mesh bagging(sliver) and putting candies in the bag and tying it with pink ribbon(sliver and pink are my wedding colors) and putting the mesh bag with candy in the wine glasses. The candy in the bag will kind of look like bubbles in the wine glasses. It's really cheap and I think very cute!!

I agree with Lauren10 above. Favors are unnecessary. In my opinion, they are a waste of money and just create more trash. I have been to a ton of weddings and have never saved nor used a wedding favor (unless it's edible). At the same time, I have been to weddings that did not have favors and never missed it. Needless to say, we are not doing favors.

If you have a lot of out of town guests, and want to do something nice for them, you can include an out of town bag for guests at the hotel, with a local map, list of activities/sights, maybe bottle of water, etc. That way at least it is practical and inexpensive.
