While I totally sympathize with you, I would like to make a suggestion. You should go to the vendors section and make a review of the location. There, you will be able to rate the venue and tell your story. It will get more attention there than here.

hmmmm....well unfortuately we won't be able to write a review. This site only allows reviews on vendors that you have used AND can only be left after the wedding is over.

Based upon the date the check was written and the cancellation, you should have had three days pass, not four. There are laws protecting certain purchases giving people a 72 hour (three day) cancellation. If they did not give your daughter a copy of what she signed, they are also in violation of contract laws. Additionally, that leaves the burden of proof on them that she signed, so they must produce that document. You must go in there with her and demand the copy of the agreement and don't leave without it.

It may be worth taking them to small claims court or at least threatening them with that possibility. Also, like Rev. Carleen stated, check with the consumer protection laws of your state. You can report it to your state's attorney generals office.

Thank you so much Rev Carleen and November Bride! I truly appreciate your support.

Rev....We gave them the Check on the 16th and cancelled on the 20th or 21st. I think we just missed the 3 day cut-off for that.

November....We are considering taking them to small claims court. We were waiting to see if they would PLEASE send us a copy of the paper our daughter signed and they keep promising it but have not sent it. I think there's a possibility they don't have it due to the fact that their computer (with all our information on it) was stolen on the 19th.

We filed with the Better Business Bureau a few days ago and they have contacted us AND The Aeire at Eagle Landing so we will let everyone know how that turns out!

Absolutely unacceptable! As a vendor in the wedding business I have never heard of such policies. Good thing for you reporting them to the BBB.

I had a terrible situation w/ a business and reported it to the BBB and they immediately responded and I ended getting more money than I anticipated so hopefully that will be your end result as well!

We did contact the better business bureau and they said they have contacted the owner of:

The Aerie at Eagle Landing

in Happy Valley Oregon

but we haven't heard anything yet.

I've also posted it on Facebook AND I cannot believe the response I've gotten. It's really traveling around!

you can also write reviews on project wedding....you don't need to have had your wedding already in order to do so.

I'm sorry for your experience but I have to say that my husband's best friend got married there and it was a beautiful wedding and everything went smoothly for them. Sometimes people don't mix. A deposit usually is non-refundable but I understand your plight as well. I hope your daughter has an amazing wedding! Where did you end up choosing?
