Vista Print Invitations??

Soon-to-be Mrs. J, on September 16, 2011 at 6:49 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 45

Hi ladies...

So I have been looking at Vista Print ( I've never used them before) for invitations because I am very apprehensive about spending $400 ifor invitations, I would rather use the money somewhere else....Has anyone used vistaprint for invitations? How is the quality of the stationary being used? Will it look "cheap?" lol Just wondering because I do like some of their designs......Thanks Smiley smile

I have not used them for invitations but I have used them for business cards as well as marketing material for expo's and was always very happy

You can ask them to send a free wedding sample so you can see and feel the papers.

I don't think it is any better or worse than the kits at michaels.... just this you get more selection of designs and you don't need to pay for ink or the headache of centering the invites in the printer.

There have been quite a few VP brides - if they don't all chime in, I will post some discussions with their photos.

I'm kinda the VP expert, so PM me anytime if you need help.

I ordered some save the dates to see how the quality was and was not impressed. I guess it just depends on how important they are to you. After exhausting several options I went with an invitation designer who uses envelopments and LOVE them. They are pricey but I figured I came in 5k under budget for my dress so it was ok to splurge!

My vendor didn't make me pay $400 for invitations lol She was actually very sweet in helping me with my budget. Do your research, although Vistaprint is great I would not settle simply because they are cheaper.

I just order some custom invites for our wedding using vistaprint, and although I havent received them yet, I think they will look great. I uploaded a pic of my FH and I and we just designed our own. We love em. I will upload the pdf so you can see.

This is a picture of the front and back. We ordered 70 with envelopes and it only cost me 40 bucks including shipping. I like using a picture because then the invites become a keepsake versus being in the trash a couple weeks later! hope this helps

I have ordered from VP before and the paper looks cheap to me. It's not enough options and all of their designs look cheesy and dated.IMHO It's not always good to be too cheap on the invitations, that sets the tone for the event. Look in www.etsy.com they have sellers that are really reasonable for any budget.

We decided to go the "eco-friendly" way and do e-vites but I was going to use Vista Print because I use them all the time for other stuff. I ordered a "bridal sample package" look for it on the site... Its TOTALLY free, and you get a sample of literally EVERYTHING!!!

Brandy ~ I don't think I saw those the first time. Very pretty!!!!

@Soon-to-be Mrs. J - the envelopes are very thin, and buying the nice ones from VP are way too expensive. So, if you do go this route, you will want to get envelopes off ebay or a stationary store.

I used Vista Print for our original Save The Dates....we only ordered a few to test them out. The quality of the paper was really cheap, so we ended up ordering the Save the Dates from Magnet Street.com, and it wasn't very expensive. We did order some additional over-flow invitations from Vista Print, and just as with the Save the Dates, the paper was very cheap. Vista Print is great for my business cards, but for something as nice as wedding invitations, they don't quite fit the bill.

I ordered STD cadre from vista print got the glossy paper very satisfied IMO I don't think the invite sets the tone. If anybody is like me I look at it note date and location and throw it in the corner. 6 months later nobody will remmeber what your invite looks like. Your dress yes your invite no.

I ordered all my stuff from VP and it was fine. I don't think they're the most fantastic invitations ever known to humankind, but I think they were nice. I did NOT think the paper looked cheap. But like Brandy, I upgraded to linen finish. Also, with the bunch of free stuff (courtesy of Hayley), you can't beat the price and the lack of hassle of printing your own.
