Using just a table runner and not table cloth?!
Would a brown/beige table runner look off, if it on top of a white table cloth? Or should i just get table overlays??

I'm having green table runners on ivory table cloths. I think it should look fine, but I guess I can't guarantee that mine look good until Sunday :)

If you are talking about a nice table a runner is fine. If you are talking your regular venue provided or rental tables. you need a cloth. They aren't pretty.

The Beige/Brown will look nice paired with the White/Ivory tablecloth. You could do the runner by itself, but only if the table is in good shape.

I agree pics would be helpful, but I don't see why that would be a bad combo at all.

Depends on the table. Most venue tables are plain plastic tables and look blah when exposed. If you happen to have a venue that has nice natural wood tables, then that's the only time I would not use table linens.
