UPS VS FedEx
Is one better/cheaper/more reliable?

I have to shop 39 empty wine bottles to TX for my table numbers. Any advice on the best way to do this??

I don't actually know the difference between the two, and I don't know which I should go with.

Just go to a shipping store (postal annex or something) and have them quote you the options. The prices vary depending on how far you're going and how fast it has to get there. They'll be able to pull up the price options quickly for you.

yup. Most do both, at least that's been my experience. Postal Annex, Mailboxes Etc., … I can't think of names of any others, but there are more.

Mailboxes Etc was bought out by UPS. Now, there aren't any places that I know of that use both. I'd weigh the boxes. You can get general prices online. In my experience, for larger packages, UPS is a tad bit cheaper- but that was years ago. And don't rule out the post office.

Thanks Meghan!!.. I am afraid the post office will not be as careful, and these are VERY breakable!

I love UPS over FED Ex. just better customer service from them for me. I think you might not want to pack the boxes yourself and make sure its marked fragile. Check on insurance too since its fragile. FYI from east to west coast, I live in OR, the average time for UPS ground is about a week unless weather holds it up. Thats only happened to me once.

Office depot actually does UPS and USPS. I thought they did fed ex also. My FH sells a lot of fragile stuff on ebay and he's never had a problem with USPS. He's sent a few packages out UPS also, I think the bigger packages were cheaper to do UPS. They will also help you pack them if you need them too. I don't know if that is extra.

If you go on officedepot.com and go to the store locator it will tell you which ones in your area have the mailing.

I will say, you also need to check to see which place goes to where you are sending. My SIL, MIL, and BIL out in NC can't use UPS or FedEx because they don't service their areas.

CKJL5410 I know my planner prefers FedEx for shipping to PR and I've noticed things that I've shipped to her via FedEx arrive as scheduled. Well USPS and UPS take a few extra days. When shipping things state side I always use UPS.

I love what Brown does for me ; )
