TTD Idea
Well since I'm getting married in February and there will probably be snow everywhere. My best friend Em, wants to take pictures of me in my dress at a barn and I was thinking it might be kinda neat to go out there when there is snow then go out again after it's springish and take them again. What do you think?

I thinks its a pretty cool idea! One of my friends did "post wedding pictures" after they came back from there honeymoon. It was her and her husband, she said it was the best thing she could have done and totally recommended it to me. She said b/c the day of the wedding she didnt get many photos of just her and her husband, she said the wedding day photos were filled with them dancing, with other ppl and the post wedding photos she said was just the two of them, nice and relaxed.

I think your paying for the dress, whats not better than an excuse to put your dress back on! =)

are you planning on having the pictures of just you, or you and your FH?

Snow pictures, especially in a white dress (or at least I assume that is the route you chose) would be so freakin' sweet! Excuse my high school lingo, but I couldn't quite think of another way to express the level of "cool" that would be (pun intended). :)
I know a photographer from Canada who was so excited to photograph a winter wedding, and it turned out it hadn't snowed. I hope there is snow for you... but then again, if you do it as a ttd session after the wedding, you can wait until it snows. Make sure you have a really good photographer lined up for this, because all of that white will be really easy to blow out and lose the details of your dress. I hope you do it and show us the pics!
Geez, photography makes me giddy like a school girl! I'm not even taking the pictures and I'm super psyched to see them. :)

I like the idea! From the one's I've seen who did this, they always put a mark of some kind on the ground where they took the shot, so every picture in the series is from the same exact position... just the back ground is different.

Thanks everyone! My dress is white. Which is the only thing I'm worried about because I don't want it to just fade into the snow. But I think it'll look pretty neat.

Oh yeah. White on white can look really amazing if you do it right. I just did a senior session the other day where the girl was wearing a white coat with fake fur around the hood, and we did them on a solid white wall. They were my favorite pictures in the whole session. That is also what will make your location important, because the places where color pops through will make all the difference.

Definitely a good idea. Also if your photographer uses off camera flash that can help draw you away from the background...

I hope these turn out well.
