Hey everyone! I'm getting married next summer and I have a slight dilemma. My father is deceased so I am having my older brother walk me down the aisle in his absence. I would also like to have a brother/sister dance at my reception in lieu of the father/daughter dance for obvious reasons. My problem is that I can't seem to find a song that's appropriate for my brother and I to dance to. My FH is planning to dance with his mother and I feel it would be rather odd if I didn't acknowledge my brother in the same capacity, since he is the only male role model that has been in my life. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help =D

Check out the Song section on WW! There are a lot of songs listed under Father / Daughter and Mother / Son dance that don't explicitly state your relationship Smiley smile

I danced to How Sweet It Is by James Taylor and that doesn't say anything about dads / daughters!

    Other ideas are:

    My Wish - Rascall Flats

You've Got A Friend In Me (from Toy Story)

Count On Me - Bruno Mars

    I'll Be There - Jackson 5

    Lean on Me

I'll Be There For You - The Rembrandts

I am in a similar situation, and I always pictured my father included in my wedding. However, he passed away when I was 19. There is a recording where my dad and I danced, when I was 15, to a father and daughter dance. I am planning to show it in my wedding at the same time while I dance with my brother in his place. We are going to play the same song from the video. It's called " Ready, Set, Don't Go" - Billy Ray Cyrus version. Hoping it won't make a lot of people cry, but it will make me feel like I am recreating that moment the best that I can.

Hi I'm in the same boat as you. I'm very sorry about your Dad 💜 I know how difficult this is. Everytime I start looking through songs i end up in tears. I really ewbred to find a song. By an artist that my Dad liked, but at the same time I don't want to torture myself. I guess i it comes down to "you'll know when you hear it. Maybe go for an artist that your brother likes and the lurixs tie in. Good luck Smiley smile💜

Wow ! This post has got me all in my feelings. My wedding is in November and I lost my dad to cancer a few months ago. It’s such a hard thing! I’m the only one in my family that’s left to get married and I won’t get the chance to share a father daughter dance. I’m heart broken . I’ll be having my older brother do the father daughter dance with me, but don’t know which song to dance to. Any ideas ?
