Save the Dates!
So, I'm hoping somebody can help me with this. We are planning to send out Save the Dates as all of his family and some of mine live out of town, even out of state.

The situation comes in where there is a portion of this group that we will send invitations to that will definitely decline to attend the wedding. Do we need to send STDs to them? There's not a huge likelihood that they'll find out. Plus, they're not quite as important as the actual invitations (which I'm planning to send out a little early, as our wedding is just before the holiday season). Anybody here know the etiquette on this situation?

yup, for everyone you've sent a save the date card, you have to send them an invitation as well. good luck with the save the date cards - ours were more trouble than they were worth (and all of our guests are out of town) - see my earlier post a few days ago. -dh
Good Luck!

I would send them Taco, just to be on the safe side and no hurt feelings :)

I would say if you really don't expect them to come and you're only sending them an invitation to be PC then I would not send them a STD. Especially if you're really counting on them not coming and are not including them in your estimate headcount.
