The first thing I'd do is cut the guest list. By a lot.

It's not un-doable, but it also depends on what you want that to include. Even at 20.00 per person, thats almost 3/4 of your budget for food alone.....

The good news is that it's 15 months away. You could save a lot towards that budget in those 15 months.

If you do a morning wedding, in the park (must get permits though), and have a pre-fixed brunch at a local restaurant, it could be done.

Does anyone you know have a large home with a good amount of property. That could be an option. Have everything in their backyard and have it as a casual type of BBQ reception.

I agree with Celia cut the guest list. Ask friends or family members who can help with decor and food and deserts. Consider having both the ceremony and reception in the same spot, ask a friend who don't mind taking some pics at the wedding. Remember its about what you want and don't want congrats.

I agree with Celia unless you have access to things like free venues, or hook ups for the wedding step one would be to cut the list down. If you can't then you have to think outside the box. Ours is going to be 5 - 7K (5 for sure but 7 if we save enough). But I have planned for 5K. Anyways it's taken a lot of thinking outside the box and we did cut our list by half (about 60 people). Good luck and welcome to WW.

Welcome and good luck with the planning!

IMO unless you're having a back-yard BBQ you won't get very far on $4K for 140 guests.

FI and I are keeping our guest list low to accommodate everything we would like our guests to be able to enjoy.

My budget is tight also, but my guest list is small. My wedding is in September of next year as well and trust me i'm getting help from outside. one of the groomsmen is great with designing he's doing my programs, invites, save the dates, table numbers, and my escort cards. My sisters husbands are contributing one is marrying us and the other is a catering my wedding. My sister is my wedding planner, i'm doing all my centerpieces my self.
You can have a nice wedding with your budget so yes it is possible but like someone said
thinking outside the box get your friends and family together to see who can help you with the details good thing your starting early.
