Check out a few Wedding Planners in the area, they should be able to help you out with a venue and help with anything else for you. It is very hard planning your wedding from another state and that is where a Wedding Planner can really help out.

Thank you all for your help! This is very stressful and we keep pushing it to the side because we do not want to pay an arm and a leg and have something a little bit different.

You're welcome, hope it helps you:) Those I listed have phone #'s so you can call if you want:) Also, let a venue know your budget, some will work with you to come up with a plan that fits you :)

I wouldn't book a place sight unseen. Even the website may be dated, or it may be one special party that had extra decoration. I would call a planner and pay her to find you the perfect place. They know the best venues who go out of their way for you, especially if you're coming in from out of town. It may be a nice venue, but a scary neighborhood. It may be an upscale suburb, but the venue is rundown. You need help!

if you want, my BFF/MOH lives in jacksonville, ILL...i can ask her if she knows of any places. at least then, it's a real person, and you'd have a better prospective. and i know she'd already know a little of prices, because her sister is getting married also, having some grand affair, so my MOH will be able to point me in your direction($), if you'd like?!!

Katherine: Take it one day at a time. Breathe deeply and relax. You have plenty of time and plenty of options. Give each one of the people/venues a call that dear SWEET Tracy has looked up for you and see what they say. If the price is still too high you could always have family to get together and contribute a dish toward your reception so that you two would only have to pay the venue for rental space. My best to you. It's going to be great I'm sure. :)

Thanks again, you all are the best. I have great news we may have deceided on a place. Its an ecofriendly venue everything is made from receycled materials. We do everything ourselves which will help us with the cost and we can bring in our own alcohol. Thank you all so much. Now I will just need some decor ideas not just yet though. Thanks again!!!
