Mother-Daughter Dance - Songs???
My father passed away very recently. My mother casually mentioned to me the other day that she'd like to find a song for a mother-daughter dance. I'm okay with the concept, but COMPLETELY lost for a song. Any thoughts, ladies? I'm new to this posting thing, but I'm hoping you all can come through for me! TIA!

Not sure if you wanted to do this, but the dance could also be a tribute to your dad.. you could play Dance with my Father by Luther Vandross. But it would be a sad song and probably be very emotional for you and your mom so not sure if you would want to incorporate that in with your wedding.

Definitely "Mama's Song" by Carrie Underwood. I am with Robyn, can't listen to the song without crying. My mom is a single mother and I am hoping she will dance with me to this song

My Wish by Rascall Flatts is another one that would work. I love Carrie Underwood's song too though!

omg all of these suggestions are about to make me cry! My favorites are In My Daughter's Eyes by Martina McBride (that's the one I was going to suggest when I first read your post) and I Hope You Dance (LeAnn Womak is the version I love). I think the ones sung by a guy's voice would be weird for me, just because it's mother-daughter, but it probably bothers me more than other people...

You should listen to two songs at www.weddingmusiccentral.com. "Every Mother's Dream is from a mom to her daughter. "To Be a Woman" is from a daughter to her mom. These songs were written especially for a mother and daugther at a wedding by hit writers. They might be just what you're looking for.
