March Wedding

I want a late winter feel to my wedding, but no silver. My colors so far are pink, gold and black. I want the wedding to have a lot of mood and glamour - and we're giving it a vintage touch (1800s as a pose to 1920s/50s).
Any ideas?? It's not like I could really hang a bunch of snowflakes around there at that point, or leaves like if it were in fall. I want the cooler feel, and I don't want the pastels or tulips of spring. I'm already going to incorporate bare branches... but I'm kinda stuck beyond that... some mud perhaps? lol

lol,,i love the colors you have in mind! very classy.play up your vintage theme with ideas from the florist(if they are talented and with experience they should have florals in mind for that type of theme!.as well as the style of your gown/hair and makeup!!! afterall the focus is really normally on the bride..trus?...there is always shamrocks (just kidding).. do you have an event planner to help out?

Don't forget what the musicians can do for the atmosphere with old waltzes, love songs, operetta (Lehar, Offenbach, Gilbert & Sullivan), Fritz Kreisler tunes, etc. and classics like Liszt's "Liebestraum" Wagner & Mendelssohn processional & recessional for sure!

Maybe use a pale pink with black and gold. You could use elements such as cameos, chandeliers, lace, etc. to bring in the vintage aspect.

Here are some images that came to mind.

with the bare branches you could do some lanterns (with tea lights). I think of March as blustery, with big white clouds. How about some filmy material hung from something (the walls, a rod) with a small fan to billow out the material. Have it in a "cool" color, like very pale blue or white or even a very pale pink to match your colors.
Also, lighting can help set the mood also. Perhaps low lighting, as in cold/cool winters day? And not warm lighting, but something "cool". Sorry, I feel I am not saying that very well!

purple is in for next season 2010, so my suggestion is do a very dark deep purple with blacks and silvers. This can be very elegant and vintage at the same time. Feathers are also in and utilizing those colors will allow you to get the feel you are looking for.
