Making your own jewelry?

So I bought a bridal jewelry set off of Ebay and i dont like it- it just doesnt go with my dress. So I got the brilliant idea to make my own jewelry-also my bridesmaids. My wedding will be on the beach. Any tips/tools/ advice?
Thanks!

I think it's a great idea. They have all kinds of kits at Micheals and Hobby Lobby. I have also seen tutorials online. I have also thought about doing that to ensure the perfect jewelry. :o)

That is a great idea. You should make each of them different. I have an aunt that does that as a hobby. And her pieces come out very nice. She says that she just puts them togethor and doesn't give much thought. B/C then it doesn't out how she thought it would.

That's a great idea. Especially for a beach wedding. I was considering on renting a my jewelry but, it's like 100 to 150 a piece! I am going to go to the places mentioned above and check them out! I need a good bracelet my mother is insisting I wear her pearl necklace though.

If you are anywhere new New York City, visit the area of 36th and 37th streets.
You will find more than what you need for beads and jewels for making your own jewelry.
Congrats.

I made my jewelry as well as my girls. I made theirs all the same and mine a little different because I am the bride.... LOL. But, they turned out great and I was worried they wouldnt be good because it was my first time. But, I think you can do it, once you get going it starts to get easier. I actually got hooked and now I am making all kinds of jewelry....

My advice is to practice with cheaper beads. You don't want to get into a project and then realize you did something wrong. You could ruin beads in the process of taking it apart.

I agree with bridaljewelry4u. Start with inexpensive beads and experiement with size and style.
www.firemountaingems.com has great ideas and the prices are very reasonable.
