Any idea where I can find a nice simple and affordable cake stand?

Here is what I am doing for my stand - very unique, inexpensive and will look amazing.

You can use square candleholders, put flowers in it and put LED candles (not the real ones). You can also use Fruits depending on theme/color of your wedding. See pictures below:

Rent one. It's cheaper and you won't need it afterwards so it won't make sense to buy.

    Martha Stewart for Macy's: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=247563&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results

I've bought several pieces from this line, including a round cakestand for our wedding cake. Price is great [and often you can get coupons in the newspaper] and they are quite sturdy. I personally would use one after the wedding for parties. Both cakes and things like appetizers look cute on them.

If you don't think you'd use it, it might be worth renting. Or if you don't like the style. The big silver ones that are popular are definitely something to rent.

I have another example of above..

a girl on another site called project wedding is doing the cake stand as well.. just be sure to get a strong enough piece of glass.. you can have it cut at your local home improvement store to your size needs Smiley smile

Btw the candle holders on the bottom are from the dollar tree.. they're actually quite heavy duty!

Does your baker have one? I really like Elena's idea too.

I found this one that I absolutely love. The best thing is after, when we have parties or a special occasion, I can use it for just about anything! This one is 22", but they also have it in 14" & 18".

At the end we used a tall table from the venue and I did not need a cake stand. That was the cheapest solution...;-)
