Instead of the Traditional Unity Candle

Well hello yall, been busy here spending time with FH, we made a few new decisions for our wedding today just thought I'd share them.
Instead of doing the traditional unity candle since both of our parents are passed away, we're doing something completely different, and letting the kids do something different as well.
Since we are from separate countries we've decided that I'll take sand from my local beach and he'll take sand from his local beach and combine the 2 in a jar, my kids will choose some seashells they have found over the years, and the same with his kids and after we combine the sand the kids will each place their special sea shell in the jar. We thought this would be a great way to bring not only ourselves together but also our different cultures and countries. What are yall's thoughts on this?

It's also a nice way to involve the kids in the ceremony.
