How to word the invites, when we will already be married?
We are getting married the day before our reception. It is just a private, close family ceremony so no one will be invited to it. I am going to start my invites since i am making them and can not seem to find the wording i like. It is very casual and fun, and I am not sure if I should put My first and Last name and his first and last name or just first names since we will both be noels before the date of reception.

Katelyn and Shaine or Katelyn Gailey and Shaine Noel...
Im so lost and i think it is because im over thinking it. The invites will not have our parents on it either, Please help : /

Since it's casual, you can just use first names... And just invite people to the celebration of your marriage, since you'll already be married at the reception.

Are you doing another ceremony or are the invites just for the reception and what wording do you have so far.

You can use your last names since the invitation will be sent before you are married. You can say something like...

Katelyn Gailey
and
Shaine Noel

Invite you to a reception to celebrate their marriage

This makes it clear that they are not invited to the ceremony, just a reception.

You could also include your middle name if you want more than just your first name, but without having to figure out the last name bit. Katelyn (middle name) & Shaine (middle name).
Just a thought! :)

We got married this past August & our having our big "wedding" this September.
We having a "renewal ceremony" (more like a blessing) that includes our parents, then a reception.

We're using:

Please join us for the celebration of the marriage of
Casey & Tyler Newvine
This place
Address
Time

Personally, I would say

Celebrating the Marriage of Katelyn & Shaine Noel

You'll be married at the time of the party, so use your new name!

If you want to use last names, it should definitely be your names at the time the invitations are sent. You will not be married at that time so it should be your maiden name.

It's cute! You may be caught up because you're trying to make it rhyme, though. It doesn't need to and you may have an easier time if you just say what you mean instead of a poem.

We're having a small, closed ceremony too, but just 2hrs before the reception. our invite has our FML names (my maiden) "invite you to join us in celebrating our new lives as husband and wife at our Caribbean Garden Party," not witness the marriage of, not union of , nothing that would indicate the ceremony. Just the party. We're including ceremony cards in the few invitations that warrant them and noting on our website that the ceremony is closed. if anyone is offended, that's their problem, not ours (yours).
