... and I will never forget his words... as he held out the ring to me he said... are you gonna marry me or what woman LOL I was in shock and then I was laughing cause of the words he used to ask me were so him then he told me he knew it was not the ring we wanted but we would get it soon... I thought it was perfect and sweet. I just wished he would have waited until the next day cause not long after he asked I passed out from the meds LOL

Friday February 13th he sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers to work. The next morning, Valentine's Day, I was in the shower. When I got out he had my flowers and a V-Day card on the bathroom counter for me. I picked up my card to read it and underneat it was the open ring box. He grabbed the box and got on his knee and asked me to marry him. And there I was with a towel wrapped around me and one on my head. We both cried and I of course said yes.

july 23,2006 i came out of my bathroom and there he was on way knee i had no idea. I cried so much i could barely answer.

it happened july 3rd, but apparently there were a couple times in the previous wks that he planned on it and I kept screwing it up by inviting people over for dinner and what not lol. Anyway, we had plans to go out for a late dinner when he got off work. Earlier in the wk I said "we should have a date night Fri but I don't want to plan anything" (our schedules were so crazy we hardly were seeing each other even tho we live together) so I didn't expect anything because it was MY idea to have a date. Anyway I got ready waiting for him to come home from work. He works retail and doesn't really need to dress up but when he got home walked in the door and was all dressed up tie and everything I was so confused because I thought he would have showered and changed once he got home. But then he got down on one need and asked me to marry him! I was caught so off guard that I couldn't speak and I was shaking so much! ...for dinner and that he had wanted to propose before dinner so it could be our own little celebration. of course it was somewhere out of our normal price range and we went all out, appetizer, main course, our own desserts and a bottle of wine...all amazing! It was perfect :)

september 20th 2008 we had a "date night" planned. i was away at school and came home on the weekends and we always had a date night on that friday or saturday. well this date night we went to the beach to watch the sunset and sitting on top of a life guard tower he popped the question but i was so suprised and shocked and excited i didnt even let him finish before i jumped into his arms. he responded with "is that a yes?? do you want to see your ring??" hahah :]

He popped the question July 30th or I guess you could say early early morning July 31st! he works 1st shift and I work 2nd. He said he had to go into work early for a meeting (wasnt unusual) - i had talked to him when I had gone into work, he told me he was trying to fix something around the house (again not unusual - we are doing lots of fixin in the house) but he actually had met up with dad after work (he told my dad he had to talk w/ him bout house stuff), he put the ring box on the table in front of my dad, I love that he asked my dad for approval (even though my 'rents love him, and kept asking him when) I got hom from work around 1130pm, and he was like, ok, you ready - all i could think was o no, he is gonna have me painting, or what did he do to the house while at work! he made me change into comfy cloths (really thought I was paintin now) then had me cover my eyes and walked me into the bedroom, he sat me down in bed and sat next to me, (CONT..)

(CONT.) he had hooked up the computer to the TV (again not unusual he is a computer geek..lol) he had a slide show of pictures of us, the house, our dogs, going along to the music of ZBB - free - at the end - there was a pic of a red box, next pic was the box open with the ring, and the next picture was him asking me to marry him!!!

This is such a great question to ask everyone! It is so interesting to hear everyones different story!

It was my birthday and I had a broken foot! I wasn't expecting it at all! We had talked about getting engaged but we never actually planned it. We were at my parents house celebrating my bday and I was opening gifts from friends and family and for some reason my mom was video taping me and I kept thinking "why is she taping me? I'm not a kid." lol. So when I was done opening what I thought was my last gift, one of my aunt's said "oh, was that the last gift?" And I said "yeah, I think so." Then my hubby said "oh wait, here's one more." It was the kind of box you would wrap a t-shirt/sweat in. I opened it and there was a framed poem he wrote and at the end it said "will you marry me?" I started crying and my Grandma who had no clue he was going to do it said "is that what I think it is?" And I cried out a little "yeahhh." And under the frame he had bought me a sweater that said "Soon To Be Mrs.____." Once I pulled that out everyone was like Awwwwwwww. LOL.

Then I sat there crying and said "I want to get up to hug and kiss you but I can't." Stupid broken foot! LOL. So we sat there hugging and kissing and then he said "Wait...was that a yes to me or your grandma?" Everyone laughed and I said "BOTH!"

It was my birthday, November 13th, 2008 and FH told me he had a surprise b-day planned for me. I already knew he was going to propose but didn't know how. Well he ended up surprising me with a sailboat ride in which I got consumed in since before then I have never been on a real boat. We were enjoying to sunset when he reached in his pocket and asked me the question. By that point I was shocked and said yes.

Feb 8th, 2009. We had went to Disney to meet my aunt who I had not seen in years. We had dinner with her and we were about to leave. He said he wanted to go to Downtown disney and see the shops and walk around. I was really tired and didn't want to. He kept insisting so I didn't think anything of it. We were walking around downtown disney and we stoped at a place where there were benches and it overlooked a lake. It was lit up with lights. He told me that tonight was going really well but there was one more thing that would make it that much better. I wasn't really paying attention b/c I was looking out to the lake. I look over and he was down on one knee! He told me he loved me and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I was so confused b/c I had no idea when he got the ring or that he was even planning on asking me! I was completely shocked! so i kept saying "how did you?! how did you?!" he eventually ased me "is that a yes?" and I kissed him. I didn't even realize...

there were people walking by and they were watching us and clapping.

on our first anniversary while we were hiking near a waterfall... i was completely surprised. he had planned it for awhile. i just thought it was like another year away. i actually thought he was joking. In my mind, I knew he was the one and that however long it took for him to propose, it didn't matter because I knew we would always be together anyway. He just thought why wait? When he had gone to pick out the ring a week before, I got mad at him because I couldn't get a hold of him at work or on his cell. I was more concerned with going to the voting polls together. I felt pretty dumb after I found out why after the fact. I thought it was kinda weird the excuse that he had given before that he had been talking with his coworker in the hallway and lost track of time.

when FH was buying the ring he said he was going out to st pete to see a friend of his. He wasn't answering my phone calls either. I remember I got mad b/c I wanted to know when he was going to be home. I asked him why he didnt answer and he said he left his phone on his car.

when I found out he was really buying the ring, i was embarassed too. lol

it's funny how that works out.

haha! He told me after that he had a better plan but he was too excited and couldn't wait. We were sitting on the couch watching TV, sharing the laptop and he went to the bathroom and I was really focused on the computer and he sat back down on the couch holding the ring I had been drooling over for months. I sat there absolutely speechless until he asked me of course. After I made all the appropriate calls (at 1145pm mind you) telling my parents and grandmother about it, he told me that he was going to wait until after we went to see The Dark Knight but he couldn't wait. Haha He's so cute.

The proposal was done over a lost train pass....completely unexpected esp since he did it on a random Monday night..a night of which I will never forget.

I'll post my story in a sec, but you guys HAVE to hear this one first.
A friend of mine had been dating his girlfriend for like three years and finally decided he wanted to propose to her. So because he wanted to do it all romantic-like, he took her out for a really nice day. They went to the fall festival, and then out to a nice dinner, and then he took her to the ice skating rink. He had arranged for management to completely clear the rink and to have the proposal come up on the scoreboards at the end of that skating session. Well about a half hour into it, she starts complaining. She's cold, her feet hurt, she wants to leave. And of course he's like "No, we can't go yet." But she kept complaining and getting madder and madder. So they left early. One the ride home she was yelling at him about how he was being a huge jerk and really insensitive etc. So he pulls into the parking lot of a gas station, and she goes, "Why are you being such an a**hole today?" And he said...

"Because I wanted to do this." And he got on one knee in the floorboard of his truck and proposed in front of the gas station. She said yes, but she felt so horrible for it and was crying and apologizing for the rest of the night. To this day she never complains when he makes plans. haha.
