I get to choose!
My brother is also getting married next year and his fiancee asked me to be a bridesmaid. I've been holding my breath, hoping that the dress would be something that I would wear more than once... and she just sent me a message giving me colors and saying that I can choose the dress. I am SOOOO happy! Every other time I've been a bridesmaid, I've had issues with the dress chosen... and never wore them again. Its nice to know that I can buy something that I'll be able to wear again.
.
Thought I would share my glee... sometimes its good to be reminded about how things look from the other end of being a bride ;)
.
Now I need to find a light pink/white dress!

That's great! Originally I planned on having my bridesmaids choose their own dresses, but luckily we all fell in love with one we saw at David's Bridal when I was there for a dress fitting. I do think that more brides should let their bridesmaids choose though.

I've never been a bridesmaid, but this is what I'm doing as well. I just don't feel right telling people I love what to do with their money.

I also let my bridesmaids choose. It was so much fun going shopping with the girls! I also gave them the choice to wear different styles/colors, but the three of them have the exact same taste and all fell in love with the same one! it worked out so great :) Good luck finding an awesome bridesmaid dress.

You are so lucky! I was a bridesmaid once and a maid of honor once and didn't get to choose anything! When I got married I let my girls help so that we were all happy with the dresses and one of them is talking about wearing hers for her own wedding, small, simple. I told her that I would help her find a wedding dress, but she said she loved it to much.

you are lucky, I had to wear a hot barbie pink dress once and being a pail irish girl it did not look good at all. For that reason I told my girls what colors I kinda liked but that I wanted to go fall-ish, and if they wanted different dresses in the same color that was fine and if we couldnt fine a "color" we all liked we could do a nice black dress. The all ended up falling in love with this one dress in a nice red tone that looked funny online and in the pictures I have posted so far (gets a kinda orange tone in flashes) and most plan on making them into tea or knee length for later use. I was fine with that.

I have been a bridesmaid more than I want to admit but not 27 Dresses! lol
I am allowing my girls to pick there style. There are separates and there are the solid dress but its going to be in a truffle color with champagne sash and a peek-a-boo skirt (champagne). I want them to pick which ever one in this catagory at David's Bridal. I don't care if some have the same as long as they are comfortable with it.

Found a dress that I LOVE... and she said its okay to wear it! Its a flapper style dress... so I will definitely be wearing it when I go out swing dancing. I've always wanted a dress from this site :)

I'm letting my bridesmaids choose. Neither of them are too fond of dresses to begin with, so I want them to pick something that they will be comfortable in. The only thing I asked was that they choose something in that silvery-purple color that I like. Which they both seem more than happy to do. The way I see it, neither of them would attempt anything mean, and I have enough on my plate as it is. Haha...I'm already being called the anti-bridezilla because when they ask me about shoes or jewelry or dresses, I'm just like, "My colors are silver and purple. Stick with silver and purple. Anything else you want to do, I could really care less. Long as you're happy, I'm happy." hahaha!

Yeah... I wasn't quite so generous with my bms... they all had to wear the same thing. (And I think its the same dress CelticChick's bms wore.) All the girls liked the dress except for one, but the one that didn't like it, I had to wear a $200 bright fuchsia dress for her wedding so she had no room to talk lol!
