FH Christmas

Ok, this is definitely Wedding Related though it may not seem like it lol!
Do you all buy your Future In laws a Christmas present?
Do you and your FH go to each other's family's Christmas partys or do you just do your separate ones?
And the big question.... What are you buying your FH for Christmas?! I know it may seem early but it's NEXT month already!! Lol
(Time has been Flyinggggg by!!)

1) Yes, we buy our FIL presents,
2)Our families both live in our town so we split christmas day, IE: Xmas morning at one paretns house, christmas afternoon at the others, but we also usually spend xmas eve at my parents house (with my dad's realitives), as we don't see my dad's side of the family xmas day, just my mom's.
3) I got him so far: Socks..lol (but I stole one pair this morning as I didn't have any!..LOL) And a fancy flash light that has a magnetic base and has a car and house charger, And I'm not sure what else!

Our parents live about 50 minutes apart. We go to my parents house in the morning. And then after presents we head to his parent's house. It is a lot of driving and it is exhausting! But both of our families are Christmas obsessed so we can't just go to one. So yes, we buy everyone gifts
I am getting him a portable CD player, probably get him some more boxers, he really wants a new digital camera but the one he wants his expensive.

we buy a gift for both his and my parents from "us"
we use to spend christmas eve with his grandparents and biological mother (plan to still do that) and the christmas day we spent the mornings with our individual familys, then both of us for lunch at his parents place then dinner at my perents. His dad on the other had said we should alternate years now that we are married but the problem comes in that his family doesnt have a set gathering each year or every other year. They will go for 2-3 years with just a quiet sit at home thing and then randomly decide that on year 4 they are having a big blow out. My family does the same thing every year and its hard for them to except part of the family being missing. So I dont know how this year is going to go.

We spend Christmas Eve with my parents and moms parents then go to his Aunts house around 8:30 p.m. Christmas morning we go to his parents house and do presents there then come back to our house and open presents with my parents, then we go to my dads parents house for Christmas dinner. Though it helps that we live with my parents so it's kind of easier to spend time with both sets of parents. We didn't get his parents anything last year because they wouldn't let us. This year I am pretty sure we are getting them something, probably litttle stuff. I am going to get his tool set started, probably a 204 pc set and some screw drivers, he's a country boy so having that kind of stuff when we move out is a must and probably some more boxers and what not. Haven't really put much thought into anything else though.

We've always done things separately money wise until recently. He would buy his parents a present and put my name on it and I would by my parents something and put his name on it but now that our bank accounts are joined it doesn't matter :) We used to actually split up on the holidays, he would go to his sisters, I would go to my brothers and then he would come to my brothers later on. (I had young nieces when we first started dating so I wanted to be around them on Christmas). Last year, we got engaged 2 days before Christmas so I went with him to his sisters and then we went to my brothers later on. It's a lot of traveling, I wish they both didn't celebrate Christmas, why couldn't one celebrate Christmas eve? That would have been just too easy :)

I buy my parents gifts and he buys his parents ... although last year he did a bad job so I may step in this year ...
My parents live many states away so we spend X-mas Eve with his parents and Xmas day with his whole family, unless we go visit my parents. It's nice not to have to split but I'm trying to get him to start our own traditions!
We have limited our gift amount to each other to $150 this year so we can save more for the wedding!!! Haven't go anything yet

We go to FH's sister's Christmas Eve for a nice dinner, exchange gifts. Christmas day, we go no where, his mom and dad come down for awhile. I never liked going anywhere on Christmas day because of the kids. We get his parents gift cards because they don't like anything we get, LOL, oh well, gift card it is, go buy for yourself then, lol. This Christmas, I bought FH a Cross pendant, Monster Jam:Urban Assault and Bigfoot games for the Wii we got for the girls (and us, lol) and I just ordered him a hoodie, jeans and a shirt from Aeropostle, and a jigsaw saw from Lowes. Now I'll get him some new cologne and little stuff for his stocking :)

ok, once I have a house i am so having every christmas at my house. I would rather cook and clean then drive all over the place so everyone can feel like they won the tug-of-war. I cant imagine how bad it gets once you have kids.

jj, if you can, get him 'Craftman' tools, they usually are at Sears, reason is they are guaranteed for life. If it breaks, no questions asked, go to Sears and it is automatically replaced. Screwdrivers, hammers, tape measures, all saws, EVEYTHING, lol :)

Celtic, like I said, I never went anywhere on Christmas day because of the kids. Until you open all the gifts, then have an awesome time (NOT) opening the packaging the toys/gifts come in, try to clean up a little and play, who the heck wants to tell the kids, 'ok, get dressed, were going out', not me :)

lol, that is very true. I plan on un-boxing all the toys before I wrap them to save me time on chrismas day. At least get it to where all they have to do is open the box and "wow" out it comes.
Familys can be so demanding on the holidays and wonder why it isnt any fun for us anymore.
