Favor Ideas

Hey ladies, I need some inexpensive, classy favor ideas. I've been looking around and every favor I like is a ridiculous amount of money. Any ideas for reasonably priced favors?

I am getting candy sticks from www.candywarehouse.com , getting 7 different flavors and tying them with lavender ribbon, one of my colors.

if you are going to use candy at all m&ms and Dove do personalized products. I'm probably doing both. We were also doing personalized poker chips because we play poker a lot. Personalized shot glasses are also nice and reusable. We may do the shot glass filled with the personalized m&ms

You guys are the best. You can also give mini serve bottle of liquor and personalized shot glasses, with a personalized candle holder w/a candle in it, and some candy. You can put all those items in gift bag or basket. You can give them out to couples not individuals.
*for the mini bottles of liquor look on bevmo.com
*Oriental Trading has great personalized items

Food is the best way to go. Honestly, I don't want anything personalized with someone elses name on it. I'd probably end up throwing it away. Food is yummy and always a good idea. How about chocolate dipped pretzels, caramel apples, fudge, etc...

You could DIY. Um, otherwise..I'm not entirely sure. I would just try googling it and see what you get.

My suggestion is to come up with a list of you and your fiance's top 5 interests and or favorite things. From the list you can then select a favor related to your personal interest or hobbie. Personalized favors always have a greater impact than trinkets.

We decided that favors weren't too important to us and we decided to get matchbooks with our wedding date and names. They run as low as less than $20 for 100.

I'm the same way. I can look at a page of items and always pick out the most expensive thing! Are you doing a theme or special colors? That might help us narrow it down. I've seen a lot of DIY favors lately and they take a lot of time to make, and look kind of cheap. It would be better to not have a favor at all than settle for something that makes your table look less attractive.

We're thinking of getting little gift bags and filling them with candy either that's from the dollar store or that's on clearance.

Candy is always a good one! It's not what it is - it's the presentation. Maybe make chocolates in your wedding colors?

Classy wedding favors do not have to break your budget. Some unique affordable options (under $2) include:
"A Love Story" Personalized notebook favors

"Nothing is Sweeter Than Love" Personalized Lemonade

Monogrammed candy jars

I went to a wedding that didn't have favors and I didn't even realize it! they did have small tubes to blow bubbles at them at the exit that had a bow with their names and dates on them....I'm planning on something like that...it took place of the rice/bird seed that needed to be paid for anyway and for those who feel it important to have something with someone elses name and date they can take home the bubbles!
favors get thrown in the trash too much to spend a lot of money on.

I agree with you marichandler, favors do get thrown away, so we are doing bubbles at the church and then instead of table favors we will be placing scrolls on the tables that say in leiu of favors we have donated to the cancer research institute, cancer has hit very close to home on more then one ocasion (SP) to both our families and we want to try to help make a difference for them. I also do not have the patience to build/fill tiny bags/boxes of candy and I dont want a ton left over, because then my pre wedding weightloss will be all for naught!! LOL If you donate to the place that we are donating to, I can't remember the exact name, but they give you free scrolls with whatever you want on them to tell the guests what you did!

There are soooo many options out there for party favors, but it all depends on you two and what you prefer. I used www.weddingfavorsunlmited.com and got keychains for 66 CENTS!!! They come already prepared in a black felt box with a clear cover and bow, you can also put a picture in them, but to save on money (not to mention no one is always going to want to carry our picture with them) we're simply printing out little slips of paper that say Thank you for coming! With our names and the date. Of course there are different prices for the quantity, but for our particular keychains, in order to get them for the price we did, we had to buy 90 or more. With a guest list of 250 I was super excited to find them at this price! Best of luck!
