Dresses?!?!?!
How to find a dress that fits your body type. I went to davids bridal last night and the "sales" Lady said the same thing every time i tried on a dress... "ohh that looks beautiful on you!!"
I mean i know what i like but where do i go to find a dress and a person who will actually tell me if the dress makes me look fat or too curvy or whatever it is that makes it not look good on. Im dont want another "sales person". That was plain annoying. Good for the ego but annoying!
Any suggestions help

Hi Rachel,
Some brides love the David's Bridal set-up, but it's definitely not for everyone! I was one of the brides that wanted to buy local and have a different buying experience with a salesperson who actually cared - and I got it! I have often found that smaller independently owned bridal boutiques have a less "commercial" feel and are more dedicated to making you happy than trying to make a sale. I'm not sure what area you are in, but it's never a bad idea to do a google search and see what the results pull up!

Hi Rachel,

First of all Congrats!! I agree with Allison, you may have to try a quaint boutique where you will be given honest time.
I have gone to David's Bridal and I completely understand what you experienced. I suggest you do research on the shops and don't be afraid to tell the salesperson you need and outright honest opinion.

Good luck on your search!

I know what you mean about finding a flattering style. So hard! I'm a bigger gal, and everybody thinks that empire cuts should look great on me. Most of the time it doesn't though, because to be frank I'm also bigger chested. I found that a halter neck line works best for me to detract from the chest but provide support and still show some shoulder. If I were you, I would go through your closet and look at your favorite normal outfits closely. Why are they your favorite? Do they all have the same neckline? Loose fit or not? Take those ideas and google them with the words "wedding dress" and see what it gets you. At least then you have a starting point. Along with what the PP said, I would bring a couple trusted friends with you for sure.
