Did you wear stockings? Should I?
I finally got a pair of shoes to wear for the wedding! I normally don't wear heels at all. (I walked in to Davids Bridal in plaid sneakers just to give you an idea..)

I attached a picture of what I bought. I wanted to know if anyone could share their wedding experience and let me know if you wore stockings on your Big Day? Did you make the right choice or do you wish otherwise?

The shoes are really slippery with stockings, and I don't feel as comfortable walking around. I am scared as it is to wear a baby heel... so I am worried I will slip and fall because of the stockings! I took the stockings off and the shoes feel tighter against my feet which seems to be a good thing. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Heck no! I wore as little as possible under my dress. You seriously do not need to make it any harder to pee than it already is.

Just make sure you break in the shoes so you know the straps won't rub against your bare feet without the stocking barrier. You can always try moleskin if they do.

I wore thigh highs but my H has a thing for them. And I also had shoes, not sandals so stockings worked well.

With or without them, make sure you're comfortable and can move around freely. It's going to be a long day and being miserable should not be an option.

oh hell no to stockings. I dont want to itch, sweat or be uncomfortable in any way.

also, and I kinda hate to say this but.....Never wear stockings with open toed shoes.

keep practicing in them and if you can't get it down, start looking for flats. There's nothing wrong with that.

No stockings for me. I'm already going to be wearing spankys, I tend to get *thigh sweat* so I want to be all nice & dry, stockings would make me sweat even more.

It's true, you shouldn't wear stockings with sandals. I didn't have the problem with sweating because of stockings though, it was more that monstrosity of a wedding gown.

Oh true - I really didn't think I was supposed to, but the lady at DB said I should. *shrug*

Thanks everyone. =)

Im not sure who makes them, maybe no-nonsense or something like that, but i got some little stocking footies that are like basically really thin socks in skin tone. those might be a good idea if you are concerned about skin rubbing. Payless Shoe Source has some elegent sandles that come in a ton of colors. I might use that for bridesmaids and maybe me too.

I rode my bike to DB and walked in barefoot, after removing the bike cleats! :)

Not only are they open toed shoes, but is that also a part for your big toe to go through? Hell no to stockings with shoes like that. It would look really silly in my opinion, not to mention stockings would just be uncomfortable on your wedding day. I would hate having them rub and itch and fall and ugh.

I bought stockings, but I am not going to wear them. My shoes have rhinestones that coil up my leg and they would snag. I say don't wear them, you will have on enough that day, lol.

Im probably going to were chuck taylor sneakers or some toms, they are more "my style". Im not big on heels either and my FI does not like me taller than him, lol. I would suggest not wearing stockings though because they will make sweat and your dress might cling to the material. Plus that is an extra layer to get through when you have to go to the bathroom.

I wouldn't for open toed shoes, just put some baby powder on your feet before and after the cermony (you can keep a little one in your purse too) to keep them from getting stinky (not that I'm saying you have stinky feet)
