Cathedral Train or Veil

Okay, so ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted the huge cathedral train, but lately I've been second-guessing and considering a cathedral veil, instead. I know a cathedral train or veil is a bit much, but I really love the long, flowing trains. So, am I crazy for wanting a cathedral train or should I get a cathedral veil instead?

Go with the veil, that way you can take it off for the reception. You may get annoyed with a long train.

We're having a costume party reception, since our wedding is planned for the day before Halloween. =] So, the dress (and the shoes) are coming off before the reception. =]

Yes, the train can be very heavy. The lady who worked on my dress showed me pictures of her dress and veil which were both cathedral. She said she didnt mind the veil much but that it did feel like it was pulling her head backwards, but that the train was just a pain the entire day. Even once they bustled it up the back of her dress was soo heavy. Now you can find dresses that are quite light and you might find one that works for you, but try it on and walk in it to see how much it pull and tugs.

Well, if you're only wearing it for the ceremony then go with your dream dress .... train and all!

You might also look for a dress with a detachable train or get a dress without a train and have a detachable one made. Then go for the Cathedral Veil - live your dream this is a once in a lifetime!

I think one does them both together. The effect really only works if you have a very long aisle. Artistic's suggestion of a detachable train is nice - even if you bustle aregular one the weight would be considerable. If you can afford silk, that would probably be lighter (plus the rustle of silk is so cool!)
