Beach Wedding Centerpieces
Our reception will be indoors, but we still want to carry the Beach theme throughout it. I've been searching for centerpieces for weeks and can't find anything I'm crazy about. I attached a picture of the first one I was set on, but then I decided it was too plain, and too short for the venue we chose for our reception.

I'm open to any and all suggestions! Feel free to send pictures, links, ideas, or anything that may spark some creativity in me, or introduce me to something I may not have considered before.

or maybe do do taller vases?
Or you could do something like this?

I really like the low centerpiece you put, and the one with the orchid. Low centerpoieces are good because people can see across the table much easier. I was set on tall CP's but reconsidered after watching those wedding shows. People would put them on the ground bc they were in the way!

I'm also having a beachy wedding.

We bought 12" tall cylinders. I filled the bottom with about 2 inches of sand. Then we've been collecting shells when we go to the shore for the weekend, and will continue to all winter long. The shells will then be another 3-4 inches. Then we'll fill them up with water. At the top we bought navy blue floating candles.

I'm very happy with them. I'll be putting the cylinder on a mirror board. Then for each table I'll have 5-8 tea lights around the centerpiece and probably some sand and extra shells too. (I'm not a flower person)

I actually like the centerpiece you posted. I also really like the first one Cydney M posted - kind of like your original one with pop of color.

I prefer lower centerpieces because people can talk over them. I find it annoying when there are tall centerpieces and I can't see or talk to the person across the table. FH and I both have vetoed tall centerpieces.

They are all awesome, and the prices I would imagine would be reasonable, correct? I googled for some ideas, and I think by far by favorite is Cydney's first image.

I agree, the picture Cydney posted looks great! A small touch of color definitely changes my feelings about it.

Meredith- Your centerpieces sound beautiful! I'd love to see them once you have them put together.

I definitely don't want something that right at the height that it would obstruct the guests view of one another across the table. But our reception venue is very tall (it's an old gym actually) and also has a balcony with seating area us and our guests will have access too, so i was just worried it may look weird, but I'll take one next time I go and test it our (once I add a little color to it:))

Rebecca- All I would have to buy is the glass bowls, which are 50% off at my Hobby Lobby almost every other week, the candles, and whatever I use to add the color, so you're right they would be pretty inexpensive!

Thanks for the ideas and input everyone. I'll probably use those for the guests tables and then do something taller for the head table.

I love the first one Cydney posted, very colorful and I bookmarked it since I am also having a beach wedding (wedding on the beach/reception indoors.)

I think the other ones posted have too much going on.

Future Mrs L, where did you get your starfish? They seem to be pretty expensive in the stores here so I started looking online today. Found 2 good websites (or so I think!).

Future Mrs. L - Those are gorgeous! Where did you find the netting? And all of the different sized vases and candle holders?

I never thought to look at Big Lots for starfish. (we bought a lot when we went to Florida earlier this summer, but I now realize I need more! Since I used some of them for our aisle chair decorations and other things I wasn't originally planning on. I'll have to see if our Big Lots has any.

Lala-The website I was considering ordering from is http://www.seashellco.com/sugar-starfish-c-312_328.html
I found it recommended by another bride a few months ago, but I haven't ordered anything, so I don't know about the quality or speed of delivery or anything.

Thank you so much for the info Future Mrs. L, I would've never thought any of it came from Dollar Tree! But that's definitely a plus! I love how you braided the top of your aisle bows! I've made one so far. Picture attached. Thanks again everyone!
