Makeup.....I need help!!!!!
I live in a small town and there is no professional make-up artist here. What is the best kind of make-up for me to do it myself the day of the wedding? The make-up I use right now is okay, but by half way through the day it fades away. I don't want that to happen the day of my wedding. PLEASE HELP!!!

I suggest you ask a mary kay specialist to come to your home and help get the perfect make up for your shade... My friend did it and my mary kay specialist is coming september plus my one friend say bare minerals is the best and she used mary kay for years.

I always look up make up videos on youtube. Not only do they have great tips but suggestions for the right products to use. I have the same problem with my makeup as well, because I dont want to spend a lot of money on makeup. One of my friends suggested using liquid eye liner because it lasts much longer, use some certain eye cream you put on your lids to set the eye shadow so it stays. Avon or mary kay has all of these products. And Ive heard the bare minerals works great as well. Also check at the department stores in like a nearby mall. Like JCPenney or Macy's or anything like that often times if you purchase something they will give you a free makeup session.

Most make-up artists will travel to you. If your make-up is a big concern, I would find one that will come to your location.

I personally am a Mary Kay consultant as well as a designer and have coordinated a few weddings...if you want to just do it yourself you can even order the makeup from your consultant and now they have a wedding section of the website with different looks and it will tell you exactly how to apply the makeup. There's certain products that I can't go without like the highlighting pen (removes any under eye discoloration), eye primer (helps keep your makeup last the whole day), and the ultimate mascara (lengthens, volumizes, water and smudge proof...of course there's more but I don't want to take up that much time! Best of luck to you!

I would start experimenting...go to makeup counters and ask them for help (you don't need to buy anything if you just go...it's customary to buy something if you schedule an appt with them), find a Mary Kay consultant...just start trying things.

Makeup wears differently on everyone so what one person likes, you might hate. I've yet to find a mineral makeup I can tolerate at all, yet so many people love them. I'm a fan of Mary Kay's skincare but their makeup is just ok for me. I wouldn't use it for my wedding. But it could be entirely different for you...you have to get out there and see!

I personally have used Mineral Glitters for years without a problem. I have oily/red skin and it always does the trick. The nice thing is you can pick the level of coverage, and if it does happen to fade you can reapply it without having to wash your face and start all over. I'm big into costuming, and it's always held up for me. I'll wear it for the entire day will little touch up needed.

The starter pack is $18-$30 and will last you ages. You'll have to add to it a bit (mascara, etc), but that's no biggie. I do also recommend their green corrector. I can't go without it. ^_^

Try adding a little bit (I'm tlaking a LITTLE dab) of foundation to your eye lids (a foundation that is oil free) and then apply your eye shadow. That takes care of the lasting part...for tips on what design you would like...if you don't already wear a lot make-up as it is...go with your neutrals (browns, creams, etc) Put a light brown on your actual lid (the part right above your eye lashes...put a darker brown lining the crease and then a lighter cream color on the arch of your eyebrow. This is very light and something you woudl want to experiment w/right now and try out new looks before your wedding. I wish you the best of luck! Let me know how it goes! :)

Use an eye shadow base and don't use creams. Bare Minerals or Bare Essentials are excellent products. I have recently been using E.L.F. (EyesLipsFace) and those are excellent products as well. They seem to be having a sale on thier .com website. The eye shadow base is terrific. Mine stays on until I take it off and I tend to have oily skin. I also agree with using a liquid eyeliner. Do be sure to use a light duting of loose powder as well. Best wishes for a terrific wedding.

sephora is your best bet..Makeup Forever, Smashbox are two lines I love to use on my brides. Also, erase paste from Benefit-amazing. Instead of concealer, a little erase paste does wonders. And MAC paint pots are great for an eyeshadow base.
