I agree but I would start now. It's never too soon to plan. You will realize by allowing yourself more time to plan will eliminate stress and you will be amazed at all the great deals you may come across. I hope I was able to help.

Vendors may not be booking for 2011 yet but it is never too soon to begin saving, collecting and organizing!

I am a very busy calligrapher, and getting quite booked for weddings in 2010, so it is not too soon to start now. I would highly recommend getting your free consultations in now with different wedding vendors, such as wedding planners, wedding dress boutique shops, invitation houses, florists, photographers, and calligraphers. You will get a feel on who you would like to work with for your special day, and then you can map out how to proceed with each vendor for every step of the way. This will definitely alleviate the stress for yourself, if you plan this now. You can then proceed to create your invitations, addressed envelopes in calligraphy, and if you are utilizing save-the-dates, it would be done very soon.
I would be more than happy to further assist you, to discuss your options with calligraphy.
Cheers : )

I agree with all to start looking around now but be careful booking anything now for 2011. Brides often change their minds as trends change.
Have a happy planning :)

The general rule of thumb is to start official planning 12 months from the actual wedding celebration date. I would reccomend to begin collecting your thoughts and formulating a overall vision for your day. For optimal results book your planner first then venue.....Everything else will fall right into place.

Depends on where you want the wedding I got engaged in July this year and panning to marry in Oct and found out my top three places all had problems the first everyone didn't want to travel, the second stopped doing weddings a year ago and the third needs to be booked at least a year and a half in advance!

12 months is a good rule of thumb, but if you already know where you want your wedding, I would call now. Getting the right reception hall and the place of the ceremony, in my opinion, should be done first and as soon as possible. They may not have 2011 prices yet, but having your wedding at the place you love would be worth looking into.
Best Wishes,
Cynthia

About a year out is a good time to start booking vendors and making plans. If there is a venue you have your eye on find out when they start accepting reservations for 2011. Some popular venues book up 16 months in advance. If you have any vendors that you love also find out when they start booking as well. A few of my brides booked me 13-14 months out, with those cases we usually sign a contract to reserve the date and then finalize all the details about 4-6 months before the wedding. It's never too early to start thinking of ideas, it will be 2011 before you know it! :)

The key thing, in my opinion, is that you're planning a Saturday wedding in the month of June. Those are among the most popular dates for weddings. So a key point is you need to hire your key vendors far in advance. E.g., your wedding reception site, caterer, DJ or band, photographer, etc.
Of those, I'd say the best reception sites and caterers are likely to get booked the earliest. Start trying to book those in early 2010. Next could be your DJ or band and photographer; try to have those hired by spring 2010.
Of course, we don't have to get into planning the details with each vendor until much later -- sometime early in 2011 is fine. The key thing is, get them on your team first.
My same point would apply to any Saturday wedding in the months of May, June, September, or early October.
If you're getting married in a different month, or on a Friday or Sunday, you've got more leeway.

Congrats and start planning now! It use to be brides started planning 12 months before the big day now, I have brides that contact me almost 2 years before. Works great for them and allows lot's of time also insures you get the venue you want (but remember lot's of brides start earlier so the venue you want may not be available so always have a few choices in mind including Wedding Planners, Photographers, Cake, Dj and so forth)
Good luck and have fun planning, starting early allows that to happen!!!

Congratulations!
It is never to early to start planning your wedding. It is not uncommom for couples to be have long engagements. This allows for large costs associated with a wedding to be paid in full before you are married. But remember, this means that more and more couples will be shopping for venues and vendors as far out as you. So, if you have you heart set on a specific place or florist or bakery-book now. You don't have to lock down details, just a deposit to save the date.
