Keep it simple. Family & close friends only. Depending on where you are, maybe at a park with a pavilion for the reception. Serve lemonade & cake for the reception. Collect wide vases at thrift stores or garage sales to fill with water & put a small flower top to float at the top for your centerpieces.

This is a concern for many couples, especially these days. You really can have a beautiful wedding without breaking the bank! There is an article on my web-site with lots of suggestions - things I have seen over the years that really work. Please take a look at:

I totally understand what you mean about trying to save for your wedding, maybe you can try to aim to save a little less. People think that doing it yourself if tacky, but for my wedding, I made my favors by hand by remelting candles I already had and just using resources like your family and friends who may also contribute with their everyday or hidden talents. There are also coordinators out there that will help you get a really low cost wedding by advertising for venders at your wedding in exchange for free services. I've had friends who have had weddings on Friday evenings and Sundays which are low cost days. This link has helpful tips http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/personal/06/20/wedding.budget/index.html

I hope this helps and best wishes.

I have the PERFECT solution for you! You can have a FULL wedding and reception for $40.00, and the proceeds will go to benefit the Atlanta Children's Shelter. Everything from the officiant, to the venue, the flowers, cake, etc... is included. For more information, visit:

First of all Congrats...second...think about what is important to you and your groom. All budgets are tight these days but it does not mean you have to give up everything. Search for vendors you have heard about, call them and make sure your date is available, ask what there deposits are, sometimes this can be negotiated to help fit into your budget (lately I have been letting brides pay monthly)Let them know what you can afford and see if they offer any payment plans. Also, think about any and all help you may need for the day, will you have to hire someone to decorate the venue and such. I hope this helps.

Think about the things you can do or make yourself. The web is so valuable in finding tools and templates that can make designing so much easier. Talk to friends and family around you. YOU will be shocked at who knows who that can help you do things much more cost effective. Also check your local colleges and craigslist for students just starting out in photography or new wedding planners looking to build their portfolio. Don't let panic mode set in and you start making poor choices. You can have a very elaborate wedding on very little if you get creative.

We recently had a couple that wanted to get married and had no budget at all, they payed for everthing as the money came in and everything still woked out. The wedding was done wit 120 guest and as little as $3000.00. It's just a matter of prespecitve. What's important you and the groom on this day? Your joining a family together so allow everyone to pitch in, there's nothing wrong with a good old fasioned down home wedding where everyone plays a part from food prep to flowers even helping make your vail. Just remember whats importent you and your husband to be.
Best wishes!

I totally agree with Events to Remember. We may plan for one thing but Life takes us on a different route. Perspective is the key and stay positive that your June wedding will take place! I wish you the best!
