It really depends on how far away your wedding date is set for. I would do it after you announced the news to your immediate family and are ready to announce it to the rest of your friends and family. Be sure to invite people that will also be attending your wedding. Good Luck & Congratulations

I concur. It does depend on how far out the wedding is. You don't want to overwhelm your friends and family with too many parties themed around your wedding. But you do want to share the news. One way to do it is to invite those closest you and your fiance to dinner and then make the announcement about what they evening is about. That way they will not feel obligated to bring a gift. And you can let them know you just wanted them to be there to share the joyful news.

I agree also with the other posts.
The whole point is to announce your engaged and celebrate. This is usually a small intimate event with only closest friends and family members.
