People who won't make your time harder I orginally had my fiancees sister in my party but couldn't take it anymore she'd try pick fights about everything be happy one minute and then a sour puss the next and it drove me up the wall!!! You need people who understand it is your day and yes they can have an opnion but who also know not to wear it out.

Siblings, relatives, close friends. I would choose people that will "stand up" for you guys and people that you can depend on. So it may be a co-worker or neighbor but it should definitely people that love and care about you and want to be a part of your special day.

Best Wishes

People that mean a lot to you and you know are going to be there for you. Congratulations!

Hi Yolanda,
First congrats, second...try not to stress, looks like you do have some time to make your minds up on this one.
I have brides that have this trouble all the time and my answer to them is simple so here are a few questions I have them think about that might help you out:

How many do you want in your Wedding Party?
Are you afraid of hurting someones feelings?
Are your friends asking you all the time?
Would it be easier to just ask family members, so that friends remain friends?

Sometimes we do worry about the outcome of asking one and not the other or you could end up with a wedding party of 30! Only you both can decide. I have had brides ask all of there friends and the poor groom can't come up with enough to match or one of the best ways is to ask family members, this seems to stop all the fussing so to speak.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress and above all enjoy your engagement!

Don't feel like every friend has to be in the bridal party, or even that you and your fiance need to have an even number of attendants (I had 7 bridesmaids but my husband only had 5 groomsmen and it was fine!).

Just think about who you really care about, who will be willing to help you with the little things while planning, and who will show up to your wedding sober, haha!

of course family, on that day you have to share your happiness with them...and then you can invite your close friends and last the people who work with you (if you are close to them). Not make any desition before you read the list couple times cause you always are going to forget someone.

Hi Yolanda, Start with your best friend (and not the man you're getting married to) or some one you consider to be your best friend. Siblings would be next and then some one you went to college with or grew up with.

People who will definitely be there for you and can help out not just on the day but before...people who have the free time and can afford it financiallly. People who are close friends with you now and who are excited about the two of you as a couple getting married....
Don't choose out of obligation or ppl who you have known the longest, but are really not good friends anymore or have grown apart.....
I found that the bridal party w/o childcare responsibilities helped out the most.

I had a hard time with my bridesmaids. I have one girl that's been there for me time and again over the past year since I moved and now live near her. Consequently, I had a best friend I'd known since I was 14. The point is, whomever you choose, they will be honored, and if they're insulted because they're a "generic bridesmaid" or whatever, just tell them then they don't have to be in the wedding.
