About Boquets
Are there any "rules" to follow when selecting a boquet? My wedding colors are going to be some black and purple (like lapis), and I'm just wondering if I'm supposed to stick with those colors and do like a purple boquet or do I stick with white/pale colors? Most of the boquets on florists websites are white or pale.

The traditional bouquet was white. However, these days anything goes.
My wife and I had peach roses in ours and our MOH's, because they were set off by our white dresses, but also looked good with our MOH's burgundy dress. So you could have your bouquet in white; in one of your wedding colors; or in any color that looks good with the rest of what you are having with your wedding.

I say go for the color. :-)

You can do different hues of your colors and just out in a few whites or cream colored flowers for contrast.

White flowers will probably cheaper tho, so if you are on a budget, you may want to use mostly white but add the deeper ciolors sparingly. Or use ribbon, bouquet jewelry, etc. to add the color.

I think it really all depends what YOU feel comfortable with and what fits within your budget. :-)

If you're wearing a white wedding gown, then I would suggest purple flowers. I like the bouquet below because it has various shades of purple from lilac to fuchsia to to plum in it.

You could do compliment colors with hints of purple... that'd be pretty. If you really want to be bold, you could contrast completely and go with a deep warm color. Totally up to your personality =)
