Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Every image goes thru select processes to reveal the best final image.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Every location requires a different approach to lighting we pack both portable lighting equipment and well as studio strobes to every event. Many of our images are produced with a mix of available light and /or in conjunction with strobe.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We are a complete digital studio from capture to final output of all of our finished images.
How many photographers do you work with?
We have full time photographers on staff that meet and work with our clients from the initial engagement shoot thru the design of the finished albums. This is most unique within this industry, many studios do not have full time staff where the photographer will work on the actual finishing of his/her images after the images are captured and assist the client thru album design.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
We always guarantee the name of the photographer in our contract. In almost 50 yrs of photographing weddings we never have changed the photographer on the bride at the last minute.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We have always maintained one event per photographer per day.
We often spread the events out so no photographer is overworked or exhausted from a previously scheduled assignment.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
We have always had a photographer on call every weekend in the event of a emergency.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We bring an arsenal of equipment to every event . Several camera bodies many different lenses . portable strobes as well as studio lighting.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Back up equipment is a must. All of our photographic equipment is maintained to insure against equipment failure.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Depending on the package selected.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
If overtime is charged it is billed on an hourly rate of $150.00 per hour.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Breaks are not really breaks they are short periods of time when a lull might happen, it doesn't mean for us to leave the event .
Do you charge for travel?
We do travel. We have done events in far away places in which the client would pay for travel and overnight accommodations. Some local events are charged travel on a per basis based on proximity to the venue site and parking and tolls.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
All of our clients have there proofs in approximately three work weeks from the event date .
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Proofs are delivered in a proof album each proof is printed and inserted in the sequence of the day . All clients have a password protected web site as well to share with there friends and family any where in the world with a internet connection. Here the entire collection is available to view in color. black and white and sepia tone . You can run a slide show and also have ordering capabilities directly with the studio.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
The proofs are yours to keep indefinitely.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Gray Studios does retain the copyright on all of our works.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
We use our customer images for advertising and studio promotions, studio displays. Images used in printed advertising will only be done with client approval.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
All camera original files are delivered to our clients at the completion of all finished work.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer traditional mounted albums ,custom designed digital albums, coffee table albums. We are constantly adding new album choices to our product line.
When will the client get the final album?
Depending on the style of finished album a client orders determines the production time typically 3 months from the time you pick your final images for your album design.
