What do your packages include?
Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Matted Prints, Prints, Proof CD of All Images, Thank You Cards, Video Montage
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We have been doing photography for a very long time and can do all kinds of retouching, effects, spot color, cut-out acrylic statues, digital picture frames, video slide shows, DVDs, etc. If you can think of it, we can do it.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
To be a real professional, a wedding photographer must deal with all kinds of different lighting. Otherwise, they can't guarantee that your wedding will look as good as the samples. We have education and experience in it all - far beyond what we run into at weddings, and it shows in our beautiful and romantic images.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We have been all digital for many years.
How many photographers do you work with?
We have only a few photographers that we trust with client weddings. If we didn't have an accomplished photographic artist, we have turned down weddings rather than do a mediocre job.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We assign separate photographers. You have that photographer for the entire day, if you wish.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Any real professional will arrange for coverage with others of his calibre in case of sickness or accident. That's one reason we belong to four different professional associations.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Not only do we bring multiple cameras and lenses, but we bring auxiliary lighting equipment, lighting modifiers, all kinds of flash units and batteries, light stands, and a few other things.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Absolutely. That's one of the first things I learned.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Most of our packages have unlimited time. The least expensive packages do have time limits, but allow enough for some weddings.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
We are available, but prefer you book a package with no time limits since that's more economical for you.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We have our radar up all the time, but will sit down after standing long periods. However, we stay alert because you never know when something special may happen.
Do you charge for travel?
In Greater Washington, no problem. If your wedding is not in Greater Washington, we charge mileage, hotel (nothing fancy), and extra meals.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
One of the unique things about Charles Jablow Photography is that we don't use proofs and haven't for years. Instead, we spend up to 4 hours with you, helping you select the best images for your album. Our clients tell us that this makes a huge difference in the final product.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
We supply your images (album or all) on DVD for you when we deliver your album. You can print what you want for personal use. We retain the copyrights, which means you cannot sell our images for money.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
We ask our couples, most of whom are anxious to have us submit these for publication or use them on our web site. We respect their wishes.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes - we've been doing this for years.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We have both digitally designed albums (magazine style, collages, some say yearbook style) and traditional matted albums. We offer about 8 choices, so you can enjoy the style you really love.
When will the client get the final album?
It takes 4-6 weeks after you approve your album design for us to make and deliver your album.
